Let's say that tariffs increase and a product from China you paid 50$ now has an extra $10 tariff.  You think China is going to eat the $10 rather than the item being increased to $60?

One of two things will happen:

1) The price of the item made in China will go up by $10.  This makes that product now more expensive than that non-Chinese manufactured competitor (who was pricing their product at $50 to compete with the Chinese made product).  And so the Chinese made product will sell less of them because they are more expensive (hurts the company financially because they are selling less product).

2) The chinese made product will be forced to reduce its price by $10 to remain competitive with the non-chinese made product.  This hurts the chinese made product because they are now less profitable at $50.

Making less money (either because they are selling less product because their product is now $10 more expensive, or because they were forced to reduce their price to remain competitive) will encourage companies, who want to sell their product in America, to manufacture it some where besides China (which then hurts the chinese economy).

The consumer holds all the cards in this game...and America is the largest consumer in the world...

who was pricing their product at $50 to compete with the Chinese made product”

Most likely they weren’t pricing at the same level as the imported item, otherwise there’d be very little reason to import the item in the first place. I can’t think of too many items where a Chinese sourced item and a domestically produced item are priced the same where consumers choose the imported item.

More likely is that the domestic version of the product is 10-20% higher, and some people choose to buy it because of its origin or perceived higher quality. But it’s very unlikely that tariffs are going to be targeted at anything that domestic producers are already competitive with.

Obviously his example was very simple...so I gave a simplified answer.

That sounds pretty similar to Trump threatening to impose tariffs on Mexico exports, it 100% wouldn't help Texans or a lot of other places bring costs down. I can't really reference things that have gone on in the last few years without someone saying things like "scamdemic" or exclaiming that everything that has gone poorly is on purpose by Democrats, but only Trump and captain dbag Elon will fix it. Do you believe Trump will the catalyst to stop illegals AND drugs into our country?  How much did Mexico end up paying for that partial wall?

“We’re being invaded by Mexico. But now we have a new president of Mexico. Supposed to — a very nice woman, they say. I haven’t met her. And I’m going to inform her on day one or sooner that if they don’t stop this onslaught of criminals and drugs coming into our country, I’m going to immediately impose a 25 percent tariff on everything they send into the United States of America,” Trump said at a rally in North Carolina.

Trump claimed the plan had a “100 percent chance of working,” telling the crowd he would escalate the tariff by 25 percent periodically if it did not get the desired response.

Ya'll worshiped Elon for making Tesla cause he was gonna save the world from evil oil but now that he has the balls to not just be a liberal cuck you hate him.

What I bolded was what Trump said, he said his plan will be 100% effective.  Who the fuck believes this guy at this point, doesn't he sound silly?

To be fair I thought Elon was a cunt from the beginning and knew the cyber truck was going to be a piece of shit once I saw the spaghetti stamped upper control arms.   I work in oil & gas, my truck has a v8 and my car has a twin turbo v8, easy with the assumptions😄

Again, the consumer has all the leverage...America is the largest consumer in the world....these tariffs will work because Mexico needs us to buy their produce more than we need them to sell them to us (America can grow plenty of produce if we need it, and we have other allies who we can import from) .  If they want to keep doing business in America then they'll do what we need them to do...

Can Mexico complete stop the illegals and drugs coming into our country?  Probably not.  But they can absolutely do WAY more to stop it than they currently are (which is basically nothing since Biden/Harris were pushovers on foriegn policy and trade).

Are you claiming women cannot vote in state elections? And that's why their rights are being taken away?

How can a person know if a woman cannot vote,  when a liberals and their liberal Supreme Court Justice cannot even define what a woman is ?

Ponder that one for a minute.

So go enact the changes you want to see at the state/local level. Just as the constitution intended.

Roe v. Wade was overturned in June 2022. What do you think is going to happen after January 21, 2025 that hasn't happened in the last 2 1/2 years?

I'd like to comment because I don't see this in the bill of rights. A woman has every right to buy any dirt bike she wants, and can allow any dude she wants to rev the shit out of it. If I was the guy who blew it up on the back triple, I would take care of it because I'm a good dude. What I'm not going to do is pay for your bottom end when i didn't do anything.

Are you talking about immigration or illegal immigration?  You do understand there is a difference right?

I’d hazard a guess that illegal immigration costs us a hell of a lot more money as a whole than it saves us in a little cheap labor harvesting some food.

So, if you’re referring to Trump cracking down on illegals rather than welcoming them with open arms like the Team you worship chooses to do…then I don’t think it’s gonna matter for my grocery bill.

If you’re talking about Legal Immigration I’d be curious to know why you think Trump is going to be bad for that? I don’t really remember him saying he hated legal immigration?

Cool your heels, I don't worship any team or individual.

I'm not disagreeing on deporting illegal immigrants, every country needs control over who enters it's territory.

I'm asking you a genuine question on what polices will have effects on prices and over what timeline?

On the topic of drilling. We have 5 large gas wells. When biden got in office and shut down pipelines and basically killed off oil and gas it killed all the money.  The monthly checks are about 1/8 -1/12 of what they were previously. Hopefully the new administration can change that.

Actually, just the knowledge of we are going to drill will bring the price down. OPEC and the Saudies will pump more just to bring the price down and make it less profitable to install new drilling that will take away from their market. Right now we are captive market that has to buy their oil because we haven't been giving out permits. And while we are producing on the old permits, the production will go down as the sites start to run low. And with no new sites coming on line that's where the crunch would have been. Remember Reagan did that in the 80s, said, I think it's great you're making so much money. I think we'll get in on that action and immediately the price went down like a rock.

I have no idea. I also have no idea. Just from being around it for say 6 years I'd say they could get them going pretty fast if they wanted with lots of good paying jobs. But again I have no real clue. I'd also say prices for landowners would go back up for sure but again no expert. The one thing I know for sure is when biden did that it made the monthly check a total joke and all the money they invested in the wells look like a waste. Another thing is they were planning on drilling the Utica.  After all that the plan went out the window. If they can get the pipeline going and drill the Utica I think america would be in a lot better place than it is currently.

You know the show Gold Rush where Rick digs pay at the end of the season.  When he comes back for the next season he is sluicing within a week of being on site because he already has pay dirt stock piled.  There are literally 100's if not 1000's of wells in the Ohio, Pennsylvania, West Virginia region that are already drilled that are not fracked and completed.  There will be a fracking boom before there is a drilling boom and it will come online real quick.

Heard it said recently that,

There is no meltdown out here in the real part of the country, where we get up every morning, and go produce.

It's only in the media, and their online dupes.

Here especially.

At least here, a few antagonists have just submerged for the time being.

Two or three others have had their moments of public temper tantrum.

Upon closer inspection, nothing they ranted about, wasn't anything but parroting media whining.

It's been entertaining to say the very least.

Engineers told me there’s enough oil in that area to power the world 10,000 yrs.  I worked for Michels Corp there called now michels pipeline when I worked for them .  We had every hhg rig world record crossing.  Tx. Oil engineers even said so.  Michels Corp won the bid to build the wall, even tho they never built a security wall. Pics of 40k track hoes saying where the biggest co in the  world . We,ll build that bitch in 3 weeks.  Hell we ko,d world record hhg projects in 22 days that other contractors couldn’t do 1/2 of our projects in 10 months.

If that's the case, the threat of drilling should start bringing the price of oil down now...What about the other policies?

Why do you think Europe said they want to start buying US LNG instead of Russian LNG?

I'm not disagreeing on deporting illegal immigrants, every country needs control over who enters it's territory.

I'm asking you a genuine question on what polices will have effects on prices and over what timeline?

I don't know man, I guess just different ones than we've had the last 4 years should be a start.  Right?

Or do you think by putting Kamala in and keeping on with what we've had going the last 4 years it would somehow be different?

I'm not a Trump lover by any means but I also have enough common sense to see the shit show we've been in since Biden took over so why in the hell would we want another 4 years of that or worse?

Democrats preached "change" on the campaign trail but they've had the President for 12 of the last 16 years so why didn't they do any of those "changes" then?

Heard it said recently that,

There is no meltdown out here in the real part of the country, where we get up every morning, and go produce.

It's only in the media, and their online dupes.

Here especially.

At least here, a few antagonists have just submerged for the time being.

Two or three others have had their moments of public temper tantrum.

Upon closer inspection, nothing they ranted about, wasn't anything but parroting media whining.

It's been entertaining to say the very least.

Nice to see some celebrities get it....
