These “confirmed” statements are far from that. I wouldn’t hang my hat on any of the above updates to this post. It’s Canadian moto, anything can happen last minute.

Also the Guaranteed Comfort team is a dealership supported team, putting Honda Canada in front of that team name gives them undo credit. They are supported by a dealership in Ontario called Hanover Honda.

That information was sent to us from the GDR team. I suspect it will be some type of hybrid moto/off-road situation.

Everything on the "confirmed" side has been vetted and confirmed - but I don't disagree, things can change as we get closer to go time.

As noted above, the information about Medaglia was sent to us from the GDR team.

So is Piccolo just hanging out at the local Aldergrove 7-11 now as a burnt out kid or what?

Sucks for Avery. He won't develop at all up here. Look at Adams....Got beat by a 34 year old that took 5 years off racing.

I am fairly certain Quinn Amyotte is racing kawasakis this coming season just not sure of what team.  Also cool fact, his brother is the “Just gonna send it” snowmobile guy “Larry Enticer”.  Cool family!

Adams won the most races. Had he not pulled out in Lethbridge, he would have won the title. Drew himself said he learned a lot.

Remove Adams, and Benoit would have won by a landslide. Linville finished 3rd in the series 97 points back. Racine finished 4th and 126 points back.

As far as not developing, I disagree. Long isn't on the same level as Adams. Racing up here will do more for him than riding laps at the training facility.

Besides, if he can't win up here, he'll have a lot of work to do if he wants to make it stateside.

Good point. If you can’t win in Canada good luck having a career in America

They need to increase the purse by a lot.  You can make a lot more at a fair race or even 50+ in some states.

Does seem like a ton of wasted potential.

Not sure if he would race 450 up here, seems like a big kid. I don't know how he wouldn't develop racing against Wright, Pettis, Natzke, Ward etc.. I see it as a positive vs going to the states and racing for points.

OK, tell me how it’s a clueless comment? How is Avery going to progress in a third rate wasteland series in a class that literally has no competition for him while the other savages on his level are fighting tooth and nail to crack the top 15  in battles that will make them learn race craft and how to achieve a level of raw speed that Avery will never compete with in Canada.  think he’s going to take the next level and make it in the US racing against Linville and 35-year-old  Benoit? Come on man get your shit together. Don’t be so pro Canadian.

Given your stance, then explain why various U.S. OEM Amateur programs elected to come up here in 2024 then?

Team Green: Drew Adams, Krystian Janik.

Orange Brigade: Luke Fauser.

Yamaha: Alexander Fedortsov.

Honda: Tiger Wood.

Drew Adams stated multiple times at the conclusion of the series - the longer moto's, chasing a full series for the first time, media attention, bike setup and learning how to adapt to a race series travel schedule (coast to coast - Pacific time zone to Atlantic time zone) enabled him a chance to flush out all these items on a smaller stage before going Pro in the US. Therefore, upon his pro debut in the US, the race day schedule is less of a culture shock. Drew qualified 5th at Ironman as an amateur at the conclusion of the Triple Crown.

The last an final point, as we noted on PulpMx an other media hubs, where would you like Avery to go? NSA Yamaha folded and there are no spots at Star or other OEM direct backed programs. Same goes for Drew. Pro Circuit has no room until 2027.

I applaud your effort in that well thought out response but you’re missing one thing. All of those guys you named were amateurs looking to get some motos in outside of Loretta Lynn‘s. Avery is now a full-blown pro. Name one rider in recent times that has ever catapulted to greatness in the US coming out of spinning laps in the gravel pits of Canada….. if Avery was smart, he would be racing the US nationals in any way that he can. If he burns the season up here, it will stunt his growth and ruin his speed that those savages down south will be gaining moving forward.

NSA yamaha folded? I’m not super up to date these days with AM stuff. I saw them signing contracts last month.

Agree to disagree - but I see the point you are trying to make.

Avery Long did SX futures and competed at Loretta's this summer under the NSA  Amateur team for Open Pro Sport and 250 Pro Sport. He is an amateur with no formal Pro experience - just like the others I listed riding in Canada this past summer - minus Drew since he rode at Ironman after the Triple Crown series finished.

Yes, Avery is perfectly capable of going Pro - but there are no OEM rides available - so what is he to do? Move to a second tier US team without factory equipment and compete in the 250 class? Would that accurately showcase his talent and speed against factory equipment? Or - the alternative being stay at the amateur level - which is shorter moto's and only one off events.

Listen to the recent PulpMx show with Michael Lindsay. Michael is actively searching for a ride for Avery to no avail. The economic landscape isn't as strong and teams are full - ergo - limited spots available.

He is in the exact situation Drew Adams is currently in - however given Drew's speed - he his more to bargain with - thus he is staying at Team Green. Drew is perfectly capable of riding for Mitch in 2025 but there are no spots at PC until 2027 - unless of course an injury occurs. So, what does he do? Go to a second tier team on non-factory equipment? Would that enable him to showcase his capability in the US 250 class? Same as Avery.

Or - how about a better alternative than racing US Amateur's again in 2025. Go up to Canada and get some Pro experience (yes, we understand you've noted multiple times it's not as fast as the US - we never proclaim to be as fast as the top US riders) without a lot of pressure. Get all the positives from the experience Drew noted from this past summer and get paid to ride your dirtbike. A lot of these amateurs still pay to be apart of these teams. Then return to the US in 2026 or 2027 with some experience and the possibility of an open spot.

Look what Canada did for Davi Millsaps in 2016 - he is very open that it revived his career. So, maybe give the series/riders a little more credit.

Definitely helped Phil Nicoletti. Funny how many US riders and other international racers have come to Canada but not ridden away with a championship. Even Purcel came for a season without winning the championship. It took Goerke a few seasons before winning the championship. Canadian MX may not be on US standards but it isn’t a joke.

Love the Canadian series, great racing and a viable place to revive or build a career. I would go there(or GPs)and create momentum versus being lost in the shuffle in the States.

“We are thrilled to announce the returning of our national champion Jess Pettis back to the team for 2025/2026. Jess currently holds the #1 plate after his first ever 450 outdoor championship and we look to defend it together.

Jess is no stranger to the team, having spent years together battling in the 250 class with the cumulation of that being his first pro championship back in 2018.

“JP’s hard work and determination are an example to all, and we look forward putting our bLU cRU Yamaha’s back up on the top step in 2025 in both classes and this is the first step” said team owner Kevin Tyler.

“I feel like I’m returning to a family, and with their support I feel like I can continue to grow and reach new levels” said Jess. This is the first piece of the 2025 MX101 FXR Yamaha team, revealed. We have exciting things happening in both classes and look forward to our best overall season as a team yet!
