Sunday morn it was 25 degrees and the top was froze with 14" (3 feet florida measure) of mud under.Fine for a lap but after that like riding in a mud filled freezer complete with cubes.
Walker rode a 250 yz in the lites and spanked them like a redheaded stepkid.45+ was first moto of the day and I was all over the ground.Rode tight from a brain thinkin' to much about the past.Took it out for the 2 nd motos and got going.
Later motos had the track like I aint seen it in 15 or 20 years.Berms and ruts the damn drunk quad riders couldn't knock down.Speeds were down and line selection was critical.God it was great.
45+ had around 18 riders(8th/2nd for 5th OA) and 40+ had 22 I think(15th/6th for 8th OA).Lots of fast guys.Got the bike handle better as the day wore on.Went up on springs friday and had not ridden it,waiting on even stiffer fork springs for this weekend.Once it gets the way I like and I know that feeling a bike gives right before it flicks me off I'll be able to win a few.
The steering damper is still in a box in my barn and it never twitched,so there.
This coming weekend looks like the same could happen, snow satuday and maybe in the 50's raceday.

Fairgrounds don't count?
20 riders, lines that lead to stuck with pegs buried, rutts all over,chop/square in and out.
I guess about the 10th time on the 450.It was trus/pure moto,like lorettas after a T storm.
35 yrs racing MX,27 yrs at muddy creek.
The dude is all moto all the time (almost) and you could almost see this stuff taking place.
I hope to see more tales from HB soon. Keep up the good work.
One problem is time.I build bikes for racers now and my barn is full.UPS didn't show today and that really screwed me.
