We'll be closing on our new house in a couple months or so and I decided to redo the kitchen cabinets with the same RTA we used 12 years ago. I used my father's 12v Milwaukee screw gun almost daily working on that house. As of right now I plan to just go that route unless you guys have been using one that you like that is willing to check out.
Hard to beat. Their warranty repair/replacement program is great too.
IF, you're going to go 12v vs 18v, the Milwaukee line is great. Every year, I buy the set for $100 black Friday at home depot. They work pretty decent. And there's a good selection of other tools. What you want is the tool selection that uses same batteries. Batteries are the big expense if you have multiple brands.

I have a few different 18V ,I'm covered there . Sounds like the Milwaukee is still leading the way when it comes to small but powerful screw guns.
I have 2 of the 12v. I use them for electrical work. I also have the 12v impact driver that i use for stubborn shit. No real issues to report.

And their 12v 3/8 fuel ratchet is extraordinary! Again, all the same line of tools.

I have both the impact and ratchet, highly recommend by me.
I finally killed the gears in the impact, but it got used long and hard.
Used to be that if you sent in one of the drivers for repair they'd just send you a new one. They are so inexpensive it might not be worth sending it in. $100 for the drill, impact driver, 2 batteries, and a charger, and a carry bag to boot.
i've had that same set for about 6 years now and they can't be beat. remodeled my own home and my neighbors bathrooms with those guns. batteries are still kicking. obviously need to grab the DeWalt 18v or something for bigger jobs, but the 12v's can't be beat for ease of use and function.
I have had good luck with this—Hercules 12 volt. $39.99 plus battery.
I third the Milwaukee line; been using them for years, haven't had any issues, and they can take a beating.
Just bit the bullet and picked up one of these beasts...
Beyond excited to fire it up this weekend and make the wife a nice wall-wide built in closet:
Speaking of saws ,I'm looking to upgrade my mitersaw. My old boss is a pretty good wood worker and told me the dewalt 780 can't be beat for the price.
A new miter saw is next on the list. I got a super busted up one from my mother in law a few years ago (she left it outside uncovered) and I put in a shit ton of work to get it back into working order but it's nearing the end of it's days.
Being that I'm already rocking the M18 line I'll probably stick with that but my buddy who's a "Dewalt guy" loves hit.
I have all tools Milwaukee but I have the Dewalt 780. Thing works perfect for what I do. Not sure if the new ones are different but I have the shadow line cut system instead of a laser for the cut line and if working outside in the sun it can be hard to see. Other than that, it works awesome.
I vote Milwaukee, but I may be biased…
Another Milwaukee guy here. Stuff is great. Admission isn't cheap. But once you get a set or two and a few batteries & chargers, tools only after that makes it a bit easier. Have all m18, but they have a sweet ratchet that might end up getting me into m12 too. The impact driver is all beat to shit, but it just keeps driving.
Nice!
I have a small fortune in Milwaukee, Tool reliability has been so so, almost all my failures seem to be switch related.that being said warranty has been great, most tools are 5 years and it is a pretty easy process to send in. Battery reliability has been great, out of 15 batteries in 9 years I have had one 12.0 go bad. I shipped to Milwaukee because it was still under warranty and it got lost in the shipping process, Made a claim with fedEx and they denied it saying it did make it there. Called Milwaukee and they said they could not find it, I figured I was SOL and was a bit pissed being a 12.0 battery.. about 2 months later a brand new one showed up from Milwaukee out of the blue. I also sent in my Radio for a estimate to fix after I left it in the rain, brand new one showed up no charge!
Pit Row
Ya, I have one drill with a wonky switch. I think I let it go too long and its past warranty now. One of those things I kept putting off. Only issue so far. Have like 6 of those things. 14 batteries, they're still good. Only 5s though. Couple 4s.
Does this combo kit seem like a good deal?

I have a Milwaukee 3/8 corded drill that I have had for 30 years. 1 or 2 new cords and a new 1/2" chuck about 15 years ago. Not sure if I have had to replace the trigger or not. Just used it the other day with a 3" hole saw through a steel electrical panel. Talk about a beast. It will break your damn wrist if it locks up.
I saw the drill and driver and it was only like 30 dollars cheaper for just the 2 tools.
The snap on rocker switch style screw gun can’t be beat. I believe it’s the only one with the head that locks so you can push down and break loose fasteners instead of stripping the head out. Adjustable clutch too so stuff doesn’t get over tightened.
Those assholes managed to get a patent for the rocker switch so you won’t be seeing that designs from anyone else, at least not major tool companies.
