In Observations Matthes says that Marc announced his retirement on the starting line of moto 2.

Fuckin sad that this guy couldn't sort it out, he's so talented. His victory at Lierop a couple years ago remains as one of the best GP action I've ever seen.

He's our european JLaw, to much partying, big waste. Holland's weed is just too strong nowadays, damn chemicals...

Not sure if this is totally true. Marc had mentioned he wanted to stop racing GP's, but would still race other events?? I didn't hear anything on the official front though.

He's not racing the French GP this weekend (pelvic inflammation) but he'll back the next GP in Germany.

That would suck if he retired but the reality is I'll barely notice if he's not there. He's pretty much (if not injured) just been riding around in 15-30th the last couple years. Well minus the sand races where he usually has one good moto per sand event. I will say this though. He is a colorful guy that is fun to have in the sport and I wish there were more personalities like him around the sport.

If he just goes through the motions like he has been lately, he might as well call it quits. MX is too dangerous a sport. How could you live with yourself if you got crippled in race where you weren't even trying hard?

Marc is a great guy, he was a big supporter of the Wonder Warthog program from the very beginning, i was also at leirop when he was leading the world on a little KTM 250.. he also teamed with my Son in a race a couple of days before the MXDN's that year.. he was kick to hang with while we were there.... he will be missed

Damn that sucks! DeReuver is cool and was hoping he would come back to the Wick to give it another shot.
