Has anyone had any bad experiences shipping a bike with UShip? I'm letting the quotes roll in to ship a bike one state over, but I am unfamiliar with the process and a little spooked to hand over a $10k bike to some rando.

I'm also looking into Motoshippers but haven't gotten a hold of them because of the Verizon outage today. Open to any advice you guys have.

I’ve shipped a few items with uship and never had an issue.

I've used AAA cooper and yellow in the past.  One of them had a bike crate with tie downs hooks.  You just roll your bike into it and lock the door and they handle the rest.  You can save money if you do station to station shipping or have a delivery with a loading dock.

I've shipped around 15 bikes back in the day. Not too many issues, the biggest issues were bikes coming in late a few times but they weren't  needed.

As long as you aren't sending the title with the bike you should be fine.

I’ve used U-Ship and Motoshippers and had good experiences with both.
Of course the costs have literally doubled in the last 4 years.

I wouldn't trust uship, but that's me. No good transport company actually gets loads from uship. The good ones run the majority of their work thru direct customers or off 1 of the 2 major load boards. Lots of guys on uship are running illegal. Examples are they don't have proper insurance if your bike is damaged. They don't have legit companies with dot numbers ect. They run as if they were just a regular joe hauling their bike to a race. Ive watched multiple videos of guys doing this then documenting it on YouTube which is stupid. I know a handful of guys in the transport business and u-ship is basically the laughing stock of the transport industry that noone reliable will use.

No problem. I wouldn't hand a bike over to them either I know of cases where guys got burned. Best bet is to go with someone reputable. Where uship is the crackhead that will do it cheapest for beer money. (Lots of times these guys lose money after a few loads and call it quits) Find a freight broker you can trust look at reviews. Lots of shady people in this industry now. Also you can look up any legit trucking company and find out everybit of info on them such as violations, number of trucks they run, employees, miles per year, years in business, ect. Where is the bike being picked up and going to? I know one guy that has mainly directs but runs enclosed sometimes and looks for loads. Slight chance he could do it for you as he's done Powersports stuff before.
