So a family of four shows up today.... $70 per ticket +$30 pit pass

Mom....100 bucks
Dad...100 bucks
Kid1...100 bucks
Kid2...100 bucks

400 bills to watch a race?

Yeah, ticket costs is okay for a single guy but not for families and families make the sport of motocross.

If I was anywhere near California I would've gone. It's a great opportunity to witness the Euros...plus hats off to the organizers to allow active military in free.

I would have gone if I was anywhere near Socal. I will go if there is a GP closer to the midwest next year. I went to the USGP at Unadilla several times in the 80s.

The price was way to high in my opinion. I don't understand why they thought they could charge so much when there was no interest from American teams and the late anouncement.
They had the podium set up in the pits which was really sad.

So you watched the race live on the internet for free........Its way cool and I did too and enjoyed it.......but guess how much money the made off me, zip zero nada........Hate to say it but event attendance is what pays Buds bills. If Buds bills aren't paid you and I don't get live, free racing on the internet.

Sure he has advertising that he gets some money from but its hard to sell ads for the kind of money he needs if there is no one local at the race.......

I'm sorry but I will never pay $70 for a ticket especially since there is no purse money for the riders. If there was purse money, maybe....

It seems that the only one making money on GP racing is Youthstream.

They charged that much because they knew that people who were going to come were going to come either way. They also knew turn out would be low so they had to get as much money as possible from the diehards who had to see a GP.

Ahh you beat me to it. Yep, true moto fans, the people who would go watch a pro race anywhere and love mx showed up. The flat bill, black sock wearing douchebag bro's that attend nationals were probably nowhere in sight. Sounds like a perfect day at the races to me.

Sunday general admission was $50 for adults and $25 for kids.

Family of 4 = $150 for race day.

From a racing stand point it was great, but from a business stand point it was an utter failure.

Buds creek would draw fans to the national but the same fans did not come to the GP.
The promoters make their coin from the TV rights.

Depends on who owns the rights, plus it cant be too much, because we watched it for free on the internet.

18 million people live in the LA Basin. I guess they aren't race fans.
