That’s a scary look on Tomac for those who remember  his 2010 Freestone race.

Been awhile since I've posted, so figured it was about time. Just got back from Dallas. Here's my thoughts/report/whatever:

Highs:
-450 Moto 1. Outstanding battle between the Top 3. They were all hauling the mail. Was good to see.
-Deegan is stupid fast. On another level, for sure. I have a keen sense of the painfully obvious. Vialle & Shimoda had some good lines/rides.
-This was my first "SMX" round & I've never been to Daytona Supercross(yet). Cool concept. Not the greatest views, but experience was cool.
-Dallas is a fun town. It had been a few years.
-407 BBQ. If you're ever in the DFW area, make the drive.
-Good to see Hunter get a win/overall. Maybe it'll light a fire.
-Eli, Jett, Hunter, & Chase all had great moments.
-Carson Wood was freaking fast on the mini. That kid is going places.

Lows:
-It was hotter than Satan's taint. And this is coming from someone who lives in AZ.
-I have no clue who they are, but the assclowns they have call the race live should be fired, punched in each eye socket, and returned to 1980's WWE immediately. They suck. Bad.
-They didn't water or groom the track at all once the racing started. Not overly impressed with the track. Had potential, but failed to deliver IMHO.
-Sand sections should have been deeper/longer. Dirt looked to be mixed with concrete. Maybe imported from AZ?!
-We bought our tickets back before the track design was released & they sucked. On the upside, we were able to move & nobody complained.
-Dallas freeways suck...bad.

All in all, it was a good trip. I'll be back for Supercross, but not likely for SMX. Good to take a break, hang with the bros, catch some racing, & abuse the liver a little. Looking forward to the start of the SX season. If you make it to the PHX SX, hit DrMarkR or myself up. Big plans for this year!...//TJ

Seen photos with Tomac using a scoop this weekend

I'm shocked he never changed the tire too, I think he may have been able to get a few more positions if he did.

It’s September… Why are we still racing.

Complete overkill. No authenticity.

It's the best time of the year for racing. Maybe they shouldn't start so early. No authenticity... lololololol

Rewatching the race and during the second 450 moto they talk about how everyone is on supercross settings and the bikes are rigid and everyone’s getting beat up. There’s one rhythm section and no whoops; surely motocross settings would be better on this track??

Anyone see what happened to Justin Cooper?  I thought I saw him riding on the pavement while the leaders were battling.

Solid weekend for Vialle 3-2 for 2nd. He looked really strong in that second moto, passing many guys and gapping Shimoda. Only 4 seconds behind Deegan, granted Deegan probably could have ran even further away.

Deegan put on a very Jett-like performance today, great starts in both motos and keeping a steady lead, he definitely had more in the tank. If he dominates SX next season I for sure want to see him on the 450 for outdoors, I think he would fit right into the top group of riders.

Shouldn't Tom Vialle and Jo Shimoda be docked 2 positions each for jumping on the Red Cross flag when RJ Hampshire was down in 2nd moto?    The lights were clearly flashing.

Bought the inside track deal. Had a great time chatting shit with the other hardcore fans from different generations over the day. Some kinks to work out with communication and the new venue, but the SMX concierge hostess were wonderful and the free water and AC shed made it all worth the cost. Lots of chatter about the dirt. It reminded me of the same day, 30 years ago, at Mossier Valley’s end of day open practice. Not much you can do about that in Texas, and the winners didn’t seem to mind at all…  Empty looking stands can be attributed to every package getting a general admission seat. The whole front straight was mostly rinsed on Ticketmaster.
