Just saw there is some bad weather predicted in the west for California Arizona Nevada areas with potential snow and 5 inches of rain.
Could this affect the playoff for those traveling there or the preparation of track itself ?
I drove to Vegas for the MC trade show last Febuary and Flagstaff about 3 hours from Vegas had gotten a lot of snow.
Vegas is showing 90 and clear for Saturday
Vegas and flagstaff are so much different in weather. I’m still new out here, but I live in Scottsdale and flagstaff is usually over 20* cooler than it is at my house. If Vegas snowed for the race I’d be surprised but anything can happen. I think everything will be okay.
Yes thats how it was when I was out there nice in Vegas while it was snowing in Flagstaff just before heading back east.
5 inches of rain could make things interesting though .
It will be hot and probably windy , i’ll be on the couch… have fun and see you at HUDL for the after party!

Interesting. Well, hopefully it goes better than it did in Dallas-Fort Worth with the paid attendance. I was at Z Max last week and that venue, according to Zmax holds 30,000. I didn't hear the attendence numbers at either of the first two events, but the first one I was at was maybe 1/2 capacity? And the weather was really nice. Dallas looked like the attendance was low, but I wasn't there. The weather I'm sure impacted the spectator turnout.
By the way, anyone watch the highlights of China MXGP? Wow! Maybe a few hundred people to a couple thousand. That's not good. Personally, I think MX is becoming more of a spectacle for the masses than a sport I embraced 50 years ago as I think more people that have never riden go to these events than actual riders/racers.
The MXGP was also in fucking China dude 😂
What a terrible take.
If Vegas is around 90 for the high, that would be pleasant. Its not uncommon to be +100F this time of year. Likely hot, sunny (will be nice after the sun goes down), and windy in the afternoon. Typically, wind taper off late in the day after the sun goes down. We used to go to the Vegas SX races. Kind of a strange vibe when it was SX. Hoping SMX vibe is better with the new payouts, etc. Old SX Vegas vibe was a mix of a few riders going for the title in their class and were nervous and tight. Riders not in the points battle (most riders) were tired from the grind and wanted time off before MX started. The whole atmosphere in the pits was way different than Glendale/Phoenix, which is an earlier race in the series and everyone was pumped up, great weather, fun atmosphere. Vegas is just a "tired" feel to it from the grind of a long season. The races were always good. I just though the vibe in the pits with the riders sucked, when in Glendale/Phoenix its a really good time.
Sat is showing a high of 88… so not in the 100s or even the 90s out here.. thankgod.. probably will be windy in the afternoon though. (Nellis AFB, is the nearest neighbor to the speedway/dragstrip)
Weather reports don’t mean shit in the desert. It’ll say “biblical rain” and it’ll be dryer than a popcorn fart and vise versa. Look at the dew point each day during monsoon season and if you can string a few days of high dew point, chances are you’ll get an afternoon storm.
