If you were looking for the next "guy", the next 450 champion, what would be your strategy?

The hungry kid who started a little later than average and wasn't raised at a training facility. Races everywhere all year and is right with his peers or even just a tick off the pace at the big events.

That kid is teachable and has a chance at a higher ceiling in my opinion.

Of course, that is entirely speculation and "gut feeling". The likelihood of picking the next Jett is so astronomically low.

Sounds a little like CW2....he was somewhat overlooked coming up... killed it in 250s, struggled in 450s and KTM turned him around.

Webb was definitely not overlooked as an amateur. Overshadowed by AC? Absolutely, but definitely not overlooked.

Look for a red head riding a Kawi and you’ll find your pot of gold lol RC, RV.. Drew Adams is next!

Man idk. I have a theory about the best amateur 250 riders. I think the riders size on the amateur 250 scene is the most important factor in predicting their future. I think a smaller stature rider that is winning or getting podiums, has a better chance of becoming the next thing compared to a bigger rider like adams. The smaller riders are only going to grow and that's only gonna make them better. I think the "man strength" factor isn't seen as important as it should be in our sport. A teenager growing into a young mans body is such an important factor for their career. Hence a bigger rider isn't going to get as much gains when he turns into a man. Now with this being said there are other factors that you can't overlook. Mental toughness is another one, and real mental toughness. Mental toughness can be faked for a long time. In my opinion I think these 2 things are the most important. Back to adams though, I still think he will be very good. He's not just winning, he's clearly better by a margin. But I don't think he'll be the next Deegan like a lot of the industry seems to think.
