The last time that I hauled my bike to the track, the forks collapsed on the way to the track and the way home. It's at about the holeshot device button level. Once I pull them back up, the forks work fine. I had two previous aer fork models before this one and never experienced it. I have read MXA's article. I'm wondering if there is something wrong if this happens every time? My air is set to 145 psi. Reads fine every time. Think I'm going to start using the fork support plastic piece.
Do you pull em far enough down so they are well past the bleedslot? I guess it could be a sign as well of the airseal leaking a little bit if it happens consistently.
I did. Worked fine for my motos. Once I got home the tie downs had loosened up and bike was leaning in the trailer from the forks compressing.
In that case maybe not a bad idea to replace the air piston next time you are servicing the forks. Luckily it's not that expensive
This is a known issue on new WP Forks, how many hrs on the bike? KTM/Gas Gas recommends 10hrs before they will address. Most of the time they will get seated in and they will be fine, but if after 10 hrs and still doing they will look into it.

These were freshly serviced. I took the 6500 conversion out and went back to air forks. Maybe 30 hours total on the forks.
Do you like the air better than the 6500?
I'm not sure yet. Ever since I got the air forks back, I've had issues. Something got messed up. I can tell you switching to the 6500 conversion from air forks made no difference in my results or lap times.
