He's got a coupl'a weeks on the bike and virtually all the work on it has been done by Merge Racing...
Btw, in the 1st Moto...his chassis set-up was amongst the best...the braking-bumps, jumps, rocks, ruts, whoops sand and rice-hulls don't lie. He was putting that Honda into some very demanding lines and the bike stayed-put. He got some good starts, too...Merge is pretty damn good!
Then there's this: Folks in the Biz don't get along with his/his dad's "plan"...
If he's 19, like I've been told, it's time for him to make some decisions and choose "a direction".
I'm not judging: I'm stating what's gettin' thrown around by people who make some of these decisions...and most of them like this kid...he's jus' got deal with some issues and "make things happen".
I hope he get's things figured out...
I'm one of those that thinks he belongs in a really good program and could go pretty far in the right environment.
Team green I totally agree with your above post that he could do great in the right program and a positive environment. The kid is fast and seems dedicated. I just think the whole Valli thing was stupid. Kyle should of just put his head down this year in the 250 class and full filled his contractual obligations with the team he signed to ride for.
Remember this is just my uninformed opinion looking in from the outside.
You need to get over yourself. You really dont know what the fuck you're talking about.
They have moved forward and they will be better off for it in the long run, because you have to be happy to be successful.
Like I said though. I'm no insider. Just going off what I read and see with my two uninformed non insider eyes.
Give the kid a break. If you don't have facts, and you don't have something good to say, just stfu.
Pit Row
Kyle just turned 19 this month and Freestone would officially be a year he has been Pro.
I had some expectations that were, to be consistant, not fall back and to keep it on 2 wheels. 1st moto not so great but it wasn't so great for a lot of the racers. 2nd moto, much better, more in line with what he is capable of. Merge Racing has Jim Lewis who is well respected throughout the industry. There was a reason all the teams were talking about how well his suspension was working Saturday.
Would it have been nice to be on the podium, hell yes!
Is that something this kid is determined to accomplish, you darn right!
Freestone is in 2 weeks.
