Incredible rookie season for him. I feel like his brother set the bar for rookie seasons pretty high last year, so Hunters season has been a little bit overlooked maybe? Seems like his starts are just as good as his brothers aswell.
His average start and finish are 2.6, only finishing off the podium twice.
We never got any confirmation on whether he got a concussion or not at RedBud, probably would have been even closer in points without that crash.
I'm really excited to see where his limit will be, specially if he gets his fitness up for the last 5-10 minutes of a moto and if he can seriously challenge Jett and Chase for titles in the next years.
For someone that almost retired due to constantly being injured in the 250 class, I'd say this is a fantastic turnaround!
Hard to remember he is a rookie in that class during outdoors! Once he figures out those second motos he’s going to be even more of a threat…
Excellent season for the bloke or cunt?
Nobody should be compared to Jetts rookie season, that was not the norm. Hunter and Justin did amazing.

"Rookie" 😂
I see a lot of similarities between the Lawrence's and the Martin brothers. They both seemed to perform better when they are on the line together. That "brother" thing is a strange dynamic.
Easy to forget it was a rookie season, most people had him in that next group back. Damn he is one stand up guy on the podium, definitely my favourite rider. Works hard, honest as they come and super respectful of his competitors. Hoping he can keep this form and consistency in Supercross.
Getting pretty hung up on one word aren’t we? Regardless of what you call his first year on 450s he did really well. I noticed watching him on press day and practice at Budds, he’s not flashy. No whips, or insane scrubs, but when the gate drops he’s on it. I kinda dig that. All business.
I remember being really impressed with him at the 2017 MXoN. The last lap battle with Zac Osborne in the qualifying race was epic. He came second but he opened a few eyes that weekend.
Ended up winning the overall though, and that certainly opened some eyes.
I’ve always been a Hunter fan, great to see him have such a good 450 rookie year.
I thought he may have been injured or something at Ironman with how much he dropped of the pace. Anyone hear anything, or was he just rolling home with second in the championship wrapped up?
Damn, so much fuss about a single word. I can't imagine how you guys must have felt when they called Craig a rookie last year in SX. 😂
