Grew up hunting, got my own rifle at 13, and use firearms professionally in my current job, but I do not understand the American obsession with guns at all. Reading this thread is wacked!

Are you going into work on Monday without your gun?

It may be hard for you to understand, but it’s Monday night here and yes I survived all day without a gun. Actually now that I think about it, I made it through all last week without touching a firearm, and I didn’t even have any anxiety due to the lack of protection!

Oh no what? That’s impossible!  More guns means more safe don’t you know!

Except you know at the NRA convention where guns are specifically not allowed, while they argue on behalf of manufacturers to increase the proliferation of guns… but I mean except for there.

I mean the only way to stop a bad guy with a gun is a good guy with a gun but we can’t have any checks and balances to determine if a guy is good we just have to umm cross our fingers and hope it evens out and there’s more good guys with guns or something… I think that’s it.  And that philosophy has 50,000 Americans needlessly dying every year and snipers at the ready at sports games.

Fucking clown world.

Around 60% of those deaths are suicides. Why is it always people from countries like Australia that have their balls snipped by overbearing, controlling nanny state governments that are so vocal about the US and guns? The US is a very special place in terms of population density, size and history. It’s hard to compare the country to others when it comes to crime or even gun crime in general.

Cope, deflect, ignore, reject.

That’s the only tactic you have to accept 50,000 dead a year so you can shoot some cans in the backyard.

You call ‘regulation that saves thousands of needless deaths a year’ snipped balls and nanny state, we call it logical regulation that works while having zero negative impact.  Zero.  Positive life saving effective regulation with no downside is somewhere we are proud of —- meanwhile you have to do so many mental gymnastics to not just accept that 50,000 die every single year but demand nothing change…

Did you know that most people that attempt suicide and are unsuccessful, don’t try again, so making it harder to do it ‘effectively’ is a huge mitigating factor to save the lies of suicidal or me tally unwell people.  minimising access to hyper effective murder and suicide weapons reduces murder AND suicide… whoddathunkit.

Australians try not the to cope and throw a hissy because they gave their rights up and are ready to be loaded up into train cars and squashed under the stunning and brave boot of their authoritarian government challenge level: impossible.  Amazing you can even ride a bike as they are very dangerous, unlike guns which anyone with common sense can handle safely.  You sound TV educated.

Most likely you have intrusive thoughts telling you to commit extreme acts of violence so you think guns should be banned for everyone (except the government) because you want to kill.  You should probably get yourself checked in somewhere “mate”.

I wasn’t being specific about your gun laws, more a generalization about a country born from hardened convicts that became a land of cucked out Nancy’s who lick the boot.
We all know where the cope is coming from.
And don’t worry about unsuccessful suicides, in Australia the government will do it for you with VAD and encourage it.

Yeah you can with adequate checks, licensing and registration.

And yeah cool, murdering people over a fuckinh flat screen tv and claiming self defense.  If you have a gun, then criminals are more likely to break in with a gun and now there’s two guns and well.  People die. See statistics.

See you do all the mental and emotional gymnastic to accept 50,000 dead a year.   50,000 dead Americans.

Your “argument” (if you could call it that), has gotten so sad now you just repeat your “50k dead Americans” line, while posting TV educated propaganda from TIME magazine.

Then you try to pull the “women suffer” line while wanting to take away the great equalizer that allows them to defend themselves against the physically stronger sex.

After that you try to establish moral high ground with your “syphilic slave owners” line, while failing to see the irony that you are a slave to your authoritarian government and TV educated opinions you’re told to have (no independent thought patterns detected).

Your extreme emotional thought patterns and lack of logical thinking are projected very strongly through your posts.

A gun in the home means your wife and kids are more likely to die… something you are now disregarding because of it doesn’t specifically state an exact scenario — and instead implies it while elevating another state that makes gun lobbyists so evil and those that fall for their propaganda so tragic.

You are disregarding the death of women and children over a ‘specific technicality’

Wow.

What a man you are.

Wow.

What a man you are.

You really are unhinged man, you seem like the type of unstable man that would increase the odds of a spouse-child being abused or killed at home.

You stated a firearm at home increases your odds of a violent home invasion or robbery. You’ve yet to back that up, instead you deflect quote a different scenario and stat.

Alcohol at home increases the odds of death. A pool does as well. So does a dog. So does cigarettes, cannabis, prescription meds, etc.

You think Having empathy for 50,000 dead people per year is ‘unstable’ and would lead to spread yes child being assaulted or killed?

Thats weird considering a lack of empathy as you so clearly lack is a hallmark of psychopathy… weird hey

I said if you have a gun, criminals who invade a home are more likely to have a gun, and when there’s a gun in the house more people die. Stats on guns in the home leading to more deaths in the home are clear — https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/9715182/ — stats on total gun deaths in US are clear..

gun in home because more gun equals more access to guns means criminals more lively to have guns because more guns equals more guns more cheap so more guns and more guns equals more dead

50,000 per year

And all your arguments combined don’t add up even close to the deaths by guns… and all of them are either more, or near the same level of restriction compared to guns…  so yeah we agree restrict guns like cannabis yeah?

Your posts are becoming increasingly more unhinged and insane you cannot even type straight now.  A gun in the home makes it LESS likely for the intruder to have a gun because they simply do not want to die.  They will pick the easy (unarmed) target such as yourself.

And you still parrot your “50k deaths per year” statistic like it’s the only argument you have left, and it comes off as extremely emotional btw.

Comes off as emotional, because it takes empathy to consider needless deaths a tragedy —- and lack of empathy is the clearest sign of being a psychopath… It’s emotionless, careless and cruel.

Common sense without any intelligence would tell me that the sky is actually a ceiling painted blue and only turns to night when ‘god’ turns the lights off… and that the earth is flat…

so if all you have is uneducated ‘common sense’ and stats prove otherwise, and 50,000 people die a year… it’s insane to ‘trust your gut’ as people die. It’s pure psychopath shit.

All you have on your side is the scribblings of a group of syphilitic slave owners, and the propaganda you don’t have the mental aptitude to recognize is propaganda… and you don’t have the empathy to give a shit about 50,000 dead ‘fellow’ Americans.

Here you are still repeating the same failed lines in your “argument”.  “50k deaths per year,” “slave owners,” etc.

I truly have sympathy for people like you who are so easily gaslighted and manipulated by fear based propaganda.  You will never see the reality until it hits you like an “immigrant” in a truck driving into a crowd of people.

This isn't relevant to the specific post here,  but question for you.

What are your thoughts on armed home invaders, and how should they be dealt with?

Can I interject here with some guesses?

1.)  call the cops (who have EVIL guns)

2.)  do what they say so you don’t get hurt (they probably just have families to feed)

3.)  give them credit cards and money as well

😂😂like the Toronto police advising homeowners to leave their car keys right by the door so the thieves can get them easier and pose less risk of injury to the homeowner. 😂😂

‘Failed lines’… or uncontested facts…

Every line is a ‘failed line’ when arguing with those who choose to fall for propaganda rather than facts…

since you are so staunchly Anti science, anti reason, anti research and anti American, every line will remain a failed line until you pull your collective heads out of your collective assholes.

That’s the thing, you can either think from an individual in the moment level or a societal level.

Individually hide and call the cops, do anything to prevent any loss of life.  No PS5 is worth a life —

Societally — how that fuck does a petty invader of a middle class house have access to a gun? Thats the problem that needs preventing… how? Well it starts with research that NRA lobbyists have payed politicians to stop the gov from doing… You only think it’s a given because the NRA pays lobbyists to ensure it is then convinces you that because they have ensured it’s an inevitability you need to have a bunch of guns to stop the inevitable.  It’s propaganda.

Oh I mean you cool look to every other developed country for some tips and tricks on how to prevent 50,000 deaths… every year.   But no you can’t do that…. No way.   That would be sensible and logical.  No no I’ll go with the syphilitic slave owners they know best.

Do you think a car thief deserves the death penalty?  That’s some barbaric Middle Ages shit.

Do you think stealing a loaf of bread should be punished by cutting off people hands as well?

Geez.

In my strangely empathetic opinion, things and objects are worse less than human lives.  But that’s just me… I guess.

From your perspective how am I ‘Starting to get it’?

Is the flat earth thing? You knows that’s been debunked right? Also the sky isn’t a ceiling painted blue but I don’t think I can share a studio that specifically says that specific thing is specifically wrong so probably can’t help you there.  But bleS that’s what you mean by ‘getting it’…. Poor thing.

The vast majority of guns used in crimes are stolen, or smuggled - stolen in.

You've got a pretty unique opinion here.  The hide and call the cops, sure.  Let professionals handle it, on the flip side I've seen home invasions go sideways, and good people die.  Not the criminals.  The home invader is making a choice, and thus forcing the hand of the resident.  I'm coming in, armed, and forcing the hand of the homeowner.  Protect your family, or who knows what will happen.  The criminal isn't coming to grab some cans of food, and a load of bread.  I don't wish death on them, but they made their bed.

I guess I believe that people have a right to protect their homes.  You referencing items in the home is overly simplifying it.  Nobody will ever, ever know the intent when a door is crowbarred in.  Nor will they know what that person is armed with.

Your next argument might be , well what if that individual only has a knife?  They often do even more damage that way.  We once did an exercise where we all had white t shirts on, and used highlighter pens as a de facto knife.  In the end, even the most skill, trained guys had pen on them like crazy,  so in real life, they were stabbed, slashed as heck.

Ok… well with this logic, why not go the other direction, what is the smallest crime where you feel that a gen pop administered death penalty is appropriate?

If you think my car or TV is worth more than your life then I guess I’m gonna think that too.  If you break into the sanctity and safety of my home and threaten that well fuck around and you can find out.

“SyPhIlItIc SlAvE oWnErS” “fIfTy ThOuSaNd”  I do not care, I will not be giving up the ability to defend myself and family from whoever may trying to commit a transgression against us.  The NRA does nothing for gun rights it is an organization claiming that while in reality they just take money from stupid boomers to use for their own personal devices.

I do not care about your society, your sports ball or marvel movies and tv shows.  I am an individual and my own person not part of this collective “society” hive mind you love so much.  Like most of your kind you talk from some moral high horse of “oh I will never hurt anyone even if necessary I will gladly just be a victim.”  Instead of accepting the reality that sometimes violence is necessary to protect yourself and loved ones and sometimes people die.
