Just a total hypothetical bench racing topic, but how do you guys think 2024 Deegan would fare against 2023 Hunter Lawrence on the 250?

Obviously, we saw them battle for a championship in real life last season, and Hunter had the edge in both speed and consistency at a majority of the rounds. However, Deegan has been a considerably better rider this season than last. While he still has an aggressive riding style, he has cleaned up his technique - he isn't mindlessly slamming into ruts, and appears to have added another level to his fitness. This has shown in the results: he wasn't notably better than guys like Vialle, Shimoda, or Kitchen in 2023 (with the exception of his Washougal performance), whereas he put multiple motos worth of points between himself and that same group in 2024 with a round to spare.

What do you guys think? Was 2023 Hunter still a level above what we're seeing out of Haiden? Or has Haiden truly entered that elite category that would be able to run with/beat anyone on a 250?

Hunter had a better 23 minus the dnf's vs.Haiden 24.  Hunter was solid all yr & had less competition.  Haiden had more competition with Kitchen, Hymas & Vialle especially the last few races.  For the future Hunter will have 1 full yr. on a 450. Plus, he's been right there with Chase in MX.  That's impressive for a rookie going up against someone who has had 5 yrs. on a 450. On top of that Chase is having a phenomenal yr..

Hunter kept crashing and breaking re breaking his ribs during 23 outdoors didn’t he? I’d say with that in mind and the level deegans been at, deegan would win.

I voted that it would be neck and neck. Haiden looks faster now, but Hunter's speed is deceptive. He's very smooth and I feel like he's more strategic as well. He'd still be tough to beat.

They would trade IMO...  Hunter more consistent and Haiden showing slightly more speed.  But let's not forget the age and experience difference.

Good hypothetical battle, both have different strengths and super fast.

Hold onto that thought and let's see in 2-3 years in 450's?
