The like/dislike button is stupid to have on this site, but it must give Vital more "engagement" and inflates the site numbers.

I remember back in the day before I was of age going to Broome tioga they didn’t allow any booze. Being as I had an alcoholic dad he put the beers behind the hub caps in the wheels on the truck and taped a couple 30 packs under the trailer. Two of which didn’t make it.
It’s not really a horrible rule to have on paper “no alcohol”. Everyone is going to find a way around it but also at the end of the day the track skates away from some liability.

I'm having a hard time finding the issue here. Why would "Slowie" want a media pass? Wouldn't he have more cred with his followers not being beholden to the rules that accompany a media pass? As he said repeatedly in the video he doesn't need media access for his content.
And why would anyone expect MX Sports to grant him a pass? They aren't trying to censor his content, they just can't endorse or accredit his content.
And finally what the hell does Cooksey have to do with this? One of the comments under the youtube video was "Cooksey sent us to give our support". What a strange cult he's building.

DC, like any business owner, has the right to grant access. And DC/MXSports are a driving force behind keeping the Nationals alive and well. Those who side with the videographer may want to consider where MX might be if run by a soulless corporation versus a family who has invested their entire lives into this sport.
Davey IS motocross; Slowie’s just passing through. If you don’t like MXSport’s decision-making I’m sure DC is open to selling it to interested parties.
I feel like it’s more about the reasoning behind it rather than the actual decision. Insurance rates? Couldn’t they have just told Slowie, “hey dude, we understand you’re having fun and creating content but it paints a narrative that we are currently trying to change”.
Figured I should mention this as well;
every photo/video taken at the races is technically property of MX sports (it’s written in fine print somewhere if anyone wants to hunt it down). Obviously with everyone having a camera in their pocket, they don’t really have a way to stop it from happening but what they can do is blacklist you if you don’t comply to their requests which they have every legal right to do.
I respect the decision DC made here and this is coming from a former Mx videographer/editor who got blacklisted from the Nationals 14 years ago. They messed up the paperwork so I technically wasn’t even supposed to get a media pass, the video I posted got popular as I captured a moment no other videographer did, they asked me to take it down, I didn’t comply so they blacklisted me. I have been to many MX and SX races since so I guess it was more of a warning.
MX sports is trying and it’s certainly appreciated but I wish they had been a bit more transparent in this particular case.

Maybe. MXSports and MX fights against many foes and competitors. Landowners, noise regulations, discretionary income alternatives, declining bike sales, you name it. Slowie could be the least of their worries.
so we instantly grab the Vital phone to reach out to DC if/when he needs the opportunity to defend himself, AND we then pass along that defense to the masses? HOWEVER, when there's an issue that is critical of DC that he can't really defend (multiple flagging issues this year) we just wait for the topic to die down so that DC isn't forced to address the issue?
