They set the bar high for local announcers
Did anyone catch the dude bitching about the announcers on the podium yesterday? It was an old dude class, maybe like 45 plus or something. Was listening to it in the RV
Apparently they made a joke when he fell or something during the moto, then his buddy must have told him about it before the podium. So he gets on the podium and starts bitching about the announcers lol. Some dude from up north that sounded like Peter griffin
That was about a prior moto. They interviewed him after the crash and he said the lapper clipped his front going off the lip. After watching the replay he was the one that cross jumped the lapper.
one of my faves, "The tracks rougher than a Saturday night in jail"...
He said they laughed at his crash, when they didn't know if the rider, him, was hurt or anything beforehand. He said it was not a good look and if that is what happened, I agree.
I also notice that they are very casual/blase when backmarkers crash, like "I hope he doesn't get in the way" kind of thing and then when a top 5 or leader crashes, its all concern for their well-being.
It seems a bit off, like cannon fodder unless you're a name.
However, it's a tough gig for a long time.

It was not the crash in 45, it was +50. He felt it was out of line because it was big crash and to Shane's point, they didn't know if he was hurt or not. Just a bad look. Shane didn't like it and called it out.
They're a great bunch of guys that know a lot about moto and are passionate about the sport. KDub was icing on the cake. They interviewed my wife and son, my wife on multiple occasions, and were professional, funny and sincere. For those of you that don't know my wife and I own On Track School and my son Canvas MX and SMX Jerseys. The Coombs family, Tim Cotter, the announcers and staff are like family to us.
I could do with out megawatt. HOLY COW and ABSOLUTELY to start almost every statement.
You're going to need to back that statement up. I talk shit to Kevin Kelly every time I see him and we always have a good laugh. Kevin and Megawatt are the 2 best announcers I've ever heard. Kevin and his witty banter always has me laughing. His ability to fill gaps 2nd to none, I think he would be great at calling baseball.
Scary guy is a completely jerk off he made himself look like a complete ass by ranting on the box what a POS these announcers are awesome and make the racing fun for that jerk off to get up there and start being an ass and calling people out go away and don’t race anywhere I saw everything and it was not what he is claiming I hope to never see you at LL’ ever again you are a total POS.

You better hope you never see him anywhere, lol. If you do remember the guy loves being punched in the face and going over the bars in 4th gear.
They are not good. They try to come up with clever oneliners way to much, just sound ridiculous. Last open pro moto was a nightmare to listen to when they all tried to go over each others previous lines.
JS7 has a great balance for this, these guys, not so much.
JS7 does commentary for 2 hours. These guy do it for an entire week. They can't all be knee slappers.
Just stick to commenting the racing in a normal decent way. If you can't be funny or smart, then don't try. Less is more.
Paul Malin does full days, alone. Not that hard.
Maybe the problem is with your sense of humor?
They are not trying to be James Stewart or Paul Malin, they are just moto dudes talking the streaming audience through 99 amateur motos while also serving as the live PA for the event. They do not have a Peacock production or budget, maybe lower your standards and the "nightmare" will end.
So you say it's a low budget causing the low level of commentary? 😄
You don't need a high budget. Just replace that group of people with some normal ones.

I think they are funny as hell most of the time. Maybe loosen up and enjoy the humor. It also helps if you have been listening for a long time and would understand the story lines.
