He sure has matured in the later years.
Herlings smoking sexton at the mxdn would be the ultimate ending to this season after all the grave dancing from herlings haters earlier in the season
Maybe that's just me, but I'm more excited to finally see Herlings vs Kenny again like in the good old times.
We shouldn't have any hopes for battles though, it's like 70% chance of rain in England during October. Probably a biblical mudfest again. 😄
What a GP, I feel like racing was really good in every class, including the EMX classes as well.
I've been at the MXGP of Flanders today and beside the crazy race from Jeffrey Herlings, the second most important thing I noticed was (beside the multiple VIP buildings), that there was one VIP Venue for long lasting friends and sponsors for Jorge Prado. Felt a bit like a good bye to his second home country, his second home town.
I don’t think there’s too many guys out there that genuinely don’t belong out there. Yes there’s some riders out there that are a long way off the pace on a track like Lommel, but when Herlings dropped the hammer even Gajser was barely within 10 seconds of his lap time, so where do you draw the line?

I can only follow by live timing but damn, Herlings must have been floating on the sand.
Also still trying to find out what went down with Vlaanderen un Moto2
They showed him crashing twice on his own.
Yeah she turns 17 in august.
It is interesting to see what her ceiling is and if she could ever turn into a regular mx2 rider who can be in the midpack.
In the 2nd moto she was something like 1m50 down on Ambjornsson (the last rider not to be lapped). Roughly around 7 seconds a lap slower. Seems like a reasonable target to improve from 16 to 20 years old.
I can’t be the only person to be impressed by Karlis Alberts Reisulis since he was moved up to MX2 surely?
Pit Row
He's doing very well and his technique is perfect too. I can see him getting on the podium some time this year.
He sure is a lot more humble nowadays and I think everyone is a fan of it. Even when he discusses the lapped rider incident he's quite cool about it.
He wasn't too cool about it when he was interviewed straight after the race! I thought it was going to be another Mel Pocock moment. But yeah he's really matured in his outlook and his riding. More diesel than bullet these days and it's great to see.
I was wondering if the lapper spoke to Herlings once he had cooled of and said something along the lines of “sorry dude, totally my fault, glad you’re not injured & congrats on the race win”.
Thank you Elliot, much appreciated. Was on live timing and I could deduct that he dropped it by the lap times. Next year I'm going to subscribe as I really believe in Calvin...
He actually crashed three times. He bent his bars in the second one and the third fall happened shortly afterwards...
Few weeks ago at Grevenboirch he was training on the winter track. Guy is a beast, only came in for some quick goggle changes and continued to hammer down a few 30+ min moto’s.
A few other guys were training their butts of that day as well. Zanchi, Oliver, De Wolf, Bogers, Guadagnini. It worked out for most of them.
It’s crazy how much these guys train on regular training days. Bogers was riding a 30+ min moto when de Wolf passed him (on a 450). Mechanic put on the pitboard that he had 1 lap to go of that 30 min moto, but he proceeded to do 6 more laps on a 2min+ deep sand track. Amazing to see.
Yeah i recall him saying that he needed to work on his fitness because of racing shorter EMX250 races. Sounds like he's been putting in the work 🙂
What happened to Geerts? He was in sundays warm up, but no race.
