Reminds me of Cooper Webb coming up the ranks. I liked Coop and I like Deegan. There are a lot of overly sensitive judgemental snowflakes on this forum.

Two things, Deegan has alot of fans, more than any coming into the pro ranks but he continuously chooses to run his mouth and use his air time to call out his “haters”. When you make patriotism part of your shtick but continue to not represent the country do not be surprised when you get called out.
I’m also okay with him having surgery and not going.
If it was hosted in the USA, would he delay the surgery by a couple of weeks?

despite knowing that a lot of people in america love the race........it still surprises me hugely how difficult it is to put the team together every year........unless, of course, if the race is in usa.......
way different then the world juniors team......they must think they can win it every time, they always go and represent their colors, even being just amateurs.......

It's much easier for European countries to go to the MXoN every year since 99% of the time it's held in Europe.
It's being held at Matterly Basin for 2024, and that's just right across the way for countries like France, Belgium, Netherlands, and Germany. Logistics aside, that is a huge advantage in regard to travel and expenses.
I'm willing to bet that if the MXoN was held in the U.S. most years, there would be a decline in attendance from our European counterparts, after a long, grueling season of MXGP.
Also, the picture isn't as bleak as some are painting it. Stewart, RC, RV, and others have missed the race due to injuries or to have surgery, so the target on Deegan is misplaced. The yahoo clan of patriots that think a rider should go come hell or highwater aren't the one's signing their paychecks, and it's not their careers that are being put on the line.
Despite all of that, we still manage to send a team almost every year. But if riders choose to have surgery, or heal up, or simply rest, they shouldn't get shit on by so called fans of the sport.

The title contenders will always show up from european countrys no matter where it’s held.
Would the B final countrys start to drop off if it were held anualy in US or on the moon? Yes, maybe. But US is always considered a title contender on paper if the best riders decide to go, as they always should do and did once upon a time.

isn't USA the richest moto market in the world ?? then AMA is the richest association......AMA sends team USA enduro to the ISDE every year, all over the world, AMA sends team USA juniors to the world junior championship every year, all over the world and never was heard that they had financing troubles......only team USA motocross for the MXdN has that problem........teams like Brasil, NewZeland, Japan, Australia, they go every year, traveling much more then USA and they have way less means to do so.......
if americans dont want to go, its their loss, i dont care anymore, its going to be the greatest race of the year any way, there will be american champions there, american honda will be there, it will be a great party of motocross......its always sad when the best americans dont want to race, but last year was the best ever edition with only the USA b-team......2018 was a great edition, great party, in USA and the a-team didn't even made the podium.........
there was a time the race needed team USA to be there, it was kind of an empty race with out them......its not anymore, mx world has changed, now the rest of the world does as good as them.....if they don't comeits just one less good team, nothing more.......its their to loose !!!!!!
and the braggin and bitchin that americans like so much to do, gets a lot more difficult, avoiding half of the world and not even winning at home, really doesn't give much to brag about, does it.........

Teams do not have bottemless pockets whether you'd like to admit that or not. So which of my following points do you dispute:
1) logistically it is harder and costs more for the U.S. to send a team to Europe than for European teams to travel within Europe?

2) Riders with injuries or who choose to have surgery to prepare for their upcoming season (their bread and butter) have a legitimate reason for not attending the MXoN.

Also, you point to 2018 when we didnt win at home, but fail to mention 2022 when we did win.
As for your other claims, well pony up and contribute to the funds for sending Team USA to the MXoN. The ISDE team is funded soley on donations, which the riders chosen contribute to the fundraising efforts themselves. It's a completely different structure, less expensive, and riders are responsible for their own travel, hotel and other expenses.
In short, you are comparing apples to oranges.
One simple response for those not wanting to go because of their teams/other commitments would be to make sure they dial down the patriotic shtick. For example, if AP who's turned being a so-called 'patriot' into a brand were to turn down MXDN he should get more heat than someone like Kenny. Kenny has turned down riding for Germany on a few occasions but he's not going on about being the 'German German' and so on. I also disagree that the Euros would stop coming if MXDN were held in the US all the time.
The uncomfortable fact is the US has been markedly less interested in attending since it stopped winning all the time. Whether this is due directly to this or not, there is a strong correlation between the US sucking at MXDN for years at a time and top riders and teams not being arsed to show up.
I don't recall Webb being as good as Deegan at MX.
Perhaps the 'spoiled entitled brat' thing is a misunderstanding. Here, we use this to refer to someone who acts like a twat, not just someone who was raised in a wealthy family and got everything handed to them on a platter. It can be used for both examples. In this case I'm arguing Haiden behaves like a brat in the first sense - that is, like a twat. Examples: numerous instances in SX (including comments about Forkner after his horrific accident); comments in MX about Kitchen being unfit; comments about Hymas and so on. Okay, if what we think of these comments are just a 'matter of opinion', in my opinion they're immature and low-rent and are clearly used for the generation of cheap coverage (see Brian Deegan unsophisticated playbook, p.1) As for the mind games thing, I'd prefer he let his riding do the talking. But that's just my opinion.
Look mate, everyone is well aware of your points, they're brought up every year. Some of them are valid, these include: having injuries; not part of their contract to race there; pressure to not attend from their team, or in the case of Kawi, an outright prohibition on attending.
On the other hand, not valid: Too expensive. Why not valid? (The riders who are chosen to go are millionaires, if not multimillionaires. You also don't need to take a entourage of your girlfriends, boyfriends, handbag holder, makeup person etc. This would help keep costs down.
Not valid: saying you 'want' to go but can't because the season is so long blah blah blah while banging on about being patriotic. If a rider said they didn't want to go and at the same time didn't go on and on ad nauseum about how much they want to blow the United States, people wouldn't care nearly as much. In case you haven't noticed it's the claim about being patriotic and then not attending the one race where you can represent the United States, that gets in the craw of overseas fans. It's called hypocrisy.

1st - yes i do, its double or more riders, double or more bikes, during double or more competition days....
2nd - yes i do, its the same number of riders, same number of bikes, during the same competition days, but traveling double the distance.....
I guess everyone is entitled to an opinion even if it is wrong.
So I’m totally not trying to be confrontational about this. However, a crowd the size I see in that picture will generate a good size pile of money, and the marketing of the event will make even more. Whoever is collecting that money could at least pay something for the teams and riders expenses to get to the race, and maybe even a few bucks for finishing positions?
I’m a huge fan of the MXoN, and that’s not gonna change. But if national pride is the reason for the race, then EVERYONE involved (including promoters) should work on a volunteer basis if anyone (riders and teams) are expected to work as volunteers. I don’t think that’s how it actually works.
It’s not right for the event to be all about money for the promoters, but not about money for the performers.
To be fair they do make a contribution towards the teams' travel expenses (like they do for GPs) and there is some prize money based on a team's finishing result (which is actually paid the the respective team's national federation).
