That Reed is so beatable? Everyone is making it seem like last weekend proved that everyone can beat him soon, when I actually thought it was the opposite. He fell and still won. Can somebody explain why everyone on Racer X and you guys are saying this.

It's because Reed is from Aus, if he was from the USA, he would have the most fans out of all the riders, and zero doubters!!

Ok im just kidding, figured id say it before Reed fans came on here saying something like that. I love the Aussies though, and my opinions is that Reed won't be beaten this year.

Because Reed's never had a chance to show the dominance in SX like Stew and RC have. But, now with Stew and RC gone, it'll just be a matter of time until people get used to him being this good.

Same thing was thought about Stewart when Read was close. However, without Stewart....its like the title isnt as prestigeous even though it really is by all means!

Reeds doesn't race the nationals so everyone hates him now.

I think they are saying that because the lap times have been so close between him, Millsaps, Short, and Windham. The speed is there with the other riders-they just need to put it together the whole 20 laps with a good start. Before, the lap times were a bigger gap. It was always RC, Stewart, and Reed putting in faster lap times during practice and qualifying usually by a second or more. That hasn't been the case this year.

reed can ride fast for 10 laps.....the other guys throw up after 2 fast laps!

No matter that Reed won a few races here and there. When RC and Stew are on their game, Reed never took a title from them. So, Reed never got recognition of his speed. I do think that he's actually gotten faster this year, and very possibly could've beaten Stew head's up (even if a lot of it would've been through Stew's misfortune). Reed was probably closer to Stew's speed this year than ever. Or, was that just 'cause of Stew's knee?

Anyway, the flood gate's opened. The title is Reed's to lose. Too bad he doesn't ride the outdoors. Him against Townley would've been pretty good.

No disrespect to Chad Reed- he's an incredible rider with a lot of heart- but he so consistently finished third behind RC and Stewart for so long, that I think he is seen as a third place guy who has inherited these wins. It's not really fair, because winning at his level is an incredible achievement and it's not like he has an easy ride to the championship.
And yeah, quitting the outdoors because he was trying as hard as he could and still finishing a minute behind RC didn't help. It pretty much sucks to see everybody but Stewart, among the top riders, giving a crap about the outdoors anymore.

I've met him twice and he was friendly to me, looked me in the eye, acted pretty cool.
As far as his treatment of hid fellow riders, I can't speak to that.

Everybody is beatable. That's why people are saying that. Chad Reed could save whales and dolphins on his days off, but that doesn't mean he can't be beaten. But the question is will anybody other then Stewart step up and do it.

Actually i think that Ferry is the 2nd fastest guy now on the track and lap times. If not for a few lapper problems and other misc. things out of his control he is the only guy to run all 20 laps at Reeds speed which could mean a possible win for Timmy.

The people that are saying it are saying it because they have an interest in making people believe it.

Ralph and Jeff allude to the possibility on the TV broadcast because they want to keep the suspense and interest there to keep viewers tuned in to see a "battle". Bowyer writes about it in Rev-Up because he's trying to get people revved up.

In reality, there's no chance of anyone beating Reed unless something catastrophic happens to him or his bike. Rather, I would be surprised if there isnt pressure on him to keep it close racing. Remember when Stewart was racing? Reed was waaay out in front of 3rd place. Now, suddenly he finishes just a couple seconds ahead?

The gap has shrunk in lap times because he is riding down to the level of his competition. At the beginning of the season with JS in the picture the gap was evident. I'm not saying Reed was faster or could beat JS but those two were clearly on a different level. Now all he has to down is keep in on two wheels and in control and he's champ. He's still the fastest but he does not need to throw the hammer down and win by 30 sec. It's kind of a bummer for those other guys because they think they have a chance. Im sure we'll see a race this year where he goes down on the first turn and still smoke everyone and put all this bs to rest.

ive never been a reed fan by any means as he always came off with a whinney attitude and always made excuses for not winning etc. but after reading TWMX's feature on him he seems alright... so i guess you could say im not a fan of reedy but now im not a hater either... :D
