Giving the top 3 guys in each class FLOWERS on the podium at the latest round of the Australian MX Championships.......

What in the hell was the person who made that decision thinking???

I have never seen anything more rediculous in my life. They looked stupid standing there in their dirty, sweaty mx gear holding flowers!!!!

Hate to say it but I am embarrassed for Australian MX after that!!!

Would love to know what the riders were thinking when they were handed the flowers???!!!

Maybe they were being propositioned?

Don't sweat it, flowers on the podium is sort of a tradition of sports in general after all. Although perhaps not as common in our a bit more dirty sport, it happens.

Yeah...it's a throwback thing. All motorsports winners got flowers, laural wreaths, a cool trophy cup(like the ones in the picture). The only thing missing is AC giving the trophy girl a tonsil check...lol.

This has been the norm in motorsports and other racing sports for decades - F-1 racing, cycling, road racing... Nothing new here.


What does surprise me is that you don't know that and claim to be shocked by it.

It wasnt the best but our series is growing really well so cant complain too much.. the biggest problem is we need qualifing as i kno of riders getting denied entry that are well worthing than some clubmans riding..

Plus Pj seen you hauling at raymond and kembla and appin over the last two months.
Was that you testing the 2011 ktms at appin earlier ?

adp, that was me at Appin a few days ago. McCoy was out there as well. We were just spinning laps on the new bikes trying to put some hours on them. That new 350 is amazing I must say. I want to throw a leg over Tye's race bike, he said it is night and day better.

Crush, stop over and say hey at the race. I might be at Terrace on Sunday if it isn't raining. Also don't make too many plans on going to Port, you will be disappointed with the turnout since the race is now at Barrabool that weekend. Smile

I allways remember the old F1 driveres standing there soaked in sweat with flowery wreaths around their neck. Holding a bunch of flowers is a bit like wearing pink. fine if you've just finnished kicking everybodys ass, maybe not so good if you didnt.

Crush. Next weekends race is now at Broadford and Port is gone from the series. Barrabool with be the weekend that Port was on.

adb, No riding in the mini truck. It is still in his buddies shop getting worked on. Jay doesn't even know if he still owns it since it has been gone for so long!

And Peter, I am glad that my girlfriend doesn't look at this website, she wouldn't be happy that I am planning on giving the flowers to a different girl each race. HAHA. Just kidding.
