Trying to cram 20 riders into a corner that only fits 6 is just asking for trouble. Maybe that's something they can improve upon as well. How many times do you see riders going down on a start? Pretty much every race but they don't fix it. It's like they expect them to wreck.
if we keep making all these so called "improvements" to the track, this shits gonna be boring to watch and race.
yeah they should have fixed that triple that took out RV, but widen the starts?
ill tell you what you should probably call nascar and tell them that their tracks arent wide enough......im sure no one would mind.....

They mandated more room around the tracks for the medical crew, I'm guessing that space has taken away from some of the room used in the past for making lanes wider.
There is always room for improvement and still make the tracks fun and exciting and challenging. I think they do that because they want fucking people to wreck. HOW CAN YOU NOT? 20 riders into a corner at 40-50mph that fits 5 or 6 fucking riders is crazy.
Has there been 1 race in the last 5 years-heat or main where somebody has not went down on a start? You can still reward the riders who get a good start and not punish the guys in the middle with a huge pileup unless you like being run over by everybody.
Going from high speed to almost a dead stop with 20 riders is just asking for trouble and we see it every race.

The times there are a problem is when the first turn is a 90 degree turn instead of a dog leg like they had in St. Louis. I'm a big proponent of 22 rider fields like we used to have in the 125 class without any issues.
I'm all over the safety thing (chest protectors should be mandatory IMO) but the only thing they need to change with the starts is getting rid of 90 degree turns.....but wider woudn't hurt I'll give you that.
This board gets so carried away sometimes.
