Customers ask me all the time where they can ride in the area, I personally prefer tracks, but since Texplex closed the only other place I can think of is Trophy club (and that place is currently under water).
free riding - non-existent
Trails - Red River, Barnwell, Twin Hills
Smaller Trails - Sprocket Ranch, Quinlan Enduro
Red River is nice.
Sam Houston State park is pretty good, at least it was several years ago. It's good to make sure it's open before making that trip because they will close if it's wet.
Knew about Red River and Barnswell, sprocket ranch sounds cool ill need to keep that in mind.
As far as free riding, I have found a few places along the Trinity in Coppell and Carolton, and often wondered if further down the Trinity along the levees in Dallas would be worth checking out. From the highway you can see trails, so obviously someone has explored it.
be careful near coppell. Those cops will not hesitate to take your bike on some trumped up bs

DeCal Works Huge Plastic Inventory of UFO and Polisport kits.
I took free-riding as in octotillo, reche canyon, old crusty video style of free riding, not free places to ride
I would not recommend riding any trails you see on the side of the road, good way to get a ticket (or shot)
Dowdy Ferry
Bridgeport OHV is pretty good for trail riding. From easy beginner trails to hard enduro.
Back in the day, 360 and Trinity area had some cool spots, some got close to Mosier Valley. Freestyle ramps and all. Jeep crew was out there wheeling, no one messed with anyone’s stuff. Couple tracks to mess around on and after a rain the dirt was awesome. Then the non riding/off road people found it. Messed it up for everyone. Huge fires, drunks, wannabe rednecks, people stealing and shooting shit. Wouldn’t catch me out there close to dark, that’s when the goons came out. That died around 2008. Fun while it lasted though. I don’t know what’s around there anymore, and have some customer sites I’ll go to in the area and will occasionally hear a bike, I wouldn’t have anything to do with it.
Is a wannabe redneck better or worse than a real redneck? Asking for a friend.
Way worse. They get a truck and a pair of boots and they are “country as hell” and “rednecks” and two months ago were doing donuts in their 350z.
There's some good riding up in Oklahoma, riderplanet.com is a good Free site to look for riding areas.
wannabe rednecks are just below has been rednecks in my opinion
Its not directly on the side of the road, you can see the area from I35, and you can see the trails where people have obviously been riding.
We did have a cop roll through the gravel parking lot and he didn't seem to care. Now there were other people there with ATVs, but they were using the ATVs to get to the river and fish, that seemed to be a normal thing there.
Shady Grove?
