First off I am not a racer, just a weekend warrior that likes to ride aggressive. Kicking around the idea of a 2024 RM-Z250. One, my weight is 200lbs and I know these come with stiff suspension. So I shouldn't have to waste money on a revalve and spring job. Two, they have that RM Army promotion again until 6/30/24. So the idea of getting a full PC T6 exhaust and Throttle Syndicate graphics with a new bike lures me in too. My dealer has the 2024 RM-Z250 at $6999+tax and that's it. Just looking for everyone's perspective on this to help me decide. Thanks

Honda also added weight to the 250 for ‘25. Not sure if this is a trend or not. Either way, closer to the RMZ

Your probably right. From a money standpoint the KX450 is the best bang for your buck. Heading back to the dealer first thing in the morning. ...

Made it back from the dealer yet? We’re all curious.

Yea you didn't see my pic on the first page? Well here's another. I may buy a Suzuki later on this year when they really drop in price.

When did they start adding weight to bikes? I have never heard of that. Just for stability or something?

The bikes have gotten heavier consistently since 2006 and we keep falling for the new model shine and mag reviews (advertisements).

They're sneaky.

They disguise the ballast as starter motors, batteries, FI systems (electronics, etc.), hydro clutches, map switches the size of bricks.

You know, improvements.

The ‘24 KX450 gained 5 lbs. The ‘25 CRF 250 gained 5lbs. The most notable was all the Austrian 2-strokes have gained more than 10 lbs since ‘22 (GG since ‘23). They’ve gotten steadily heavier, except Suzuki, and YZs.
