I worked with Dave Mack for a while some 30 years ago. I had no problems with him, but I really didn't know him outside of work other than to see him at the track. He just seemed like kind of a loner. Years later, after I dropped out of racing for several years, I did hear rumors though. The justice system will hopefully deal with him.
With this guy being a past L.L. champion, he probably had some well established reputation in the motocross community. Not all, but I assume some people were impressed by it. It was also stated he prayed on the quite types. That too, just shows his level of deceptiveness and expertise in what he was doing. Many times these sexual predators are pretty good at picking out their targets. If anyone noticed in the news, there was actually a pediatrician who molested over 400 kids. He provided free health care services to poorer families, and took advantage of them. People blindly trust authority, and kids often blindly trust adults.
It's a sick world, take precaution if you have children. More times than not, children are molested/raped by people they trust, friends, family members, etc. In this case, the guy established motocross relationships, kids trusted him, and he abused that trust, and them. Also, trust your instincts. If you have children and get a bad vibe from someone, even if everyone is telling you things are okay, you know yourself, and children better than anyone else, so listen to yourself, and remove them from that environment.

You see these 2 families in San Diego, the more recent was the HS runner. This guy is a POS and traded info with authorities to avoid death penalty. The one girl was missing for more than a year and this MoFo is playing "go fish." This POS needs the "special jumpsuit" more than any of them.

if your child isn't already in counseling, I would highly encourage it. I can't imagine how extremely difficult this time is for all of you, but there is light at the end of the tunnel. I have two good friends who were molested as a child, and they live normal happy lives, today. What happened to them is something they can't forget, and something still difficult for them to discuss, but they are still able to live good lives. One is a female high school teacher, and the other friend is a library director. I just felt like sharing this with you, because I want you to know he is not ruined, and he still has a bright future. I pray for you, your family, and your child's strength in overcoming this overwhelming life hurdle.

My former brother in law is a 2x registered sex offender that has my sister and nephew totally f'ed in the head due to his controlling and manipulating for 20 years. I also got the creeps because he seemed to be especially interested in 1 of my 3 sons for a while. I can't begin to describe the mental damage he has done. Warning to people in Houston to Galveston area, that where we think he is. He ran like the coward he is when a top notch divorce lawyer gutted him in court. He should be on the RSO site for the state of Texas.
I went to jury duty a couple weeks ago and my reaction when the charges were read and the scumbag appeared were very physical. I had a full on fight or flight reaction. I asked to be excused because I new I would be prejudiced. I should have stayed on and made sure that he was convicted.
The gist of this rant is how badly I feel for all victims of these scum and why. It has been scarily close to home.
I know lots of people think California if F'ed up but there is a strong 1 strike movement for violent sex offenders. I hope we can vote on it in November.
I wish all victims my sincere hope they find the peace in their lives that was taken from them.
