Good news. There are no sprint races this year. They're listed in the information package, but none of the rounds will have that format.

Thank god. Those scared the hell of out me.

Yeah. I'm not a fan of them, and I sure as hell wouldn't like them if I were a mechanic.

It wasn't so much that, more so the pace the boys were carrying whilst "sprinting" for 15 minutes. Puts them between a rock and a hard place because if 1 guy hangs it out, they all have to. Just unnecessary IMO.

Al Dyck Going Racing with Benek and Davies in 2024

By Billy Rainford

Al Dyck is going Canadian Triple Crown Series MX Nationals racing with #17 Julien Benek and #29 Blake Davies in 2024.

Just when I thought I was out, they pull me back in…” ~ Godfather III

I reference that corny Godfather III line here because, like most, I thought his MVP Sky Racing Team was going to be another casualty in a long list of casualties heading into the 2024 Canadian Triple Crown Series Motocross Nationals. And to be honest, it very nearly was! Here’s the story:

In case you didn’t already know, Al Dyck is one of Canada’s all-time MX greats. He’s a former National Champion and it can be said that he had more natural talent than the Canadian GOAT, Ross ‘Rollerball’ Pederson, who he had to go up against his entire career. And like all of us, once this sport gets in your blood there’s no cure for you – you’ve pretty much had it. You’re in.

Al still enjoys being in and around the sport and his teams have been great additions to our series, culminating in that 250 MX Championship with Jake Piccolo back in 2021. And here’s where it gets interesting because Jake was the catalyst for Al’s return in 2024.

After Julien Benek‘s announcement on Instagram on Wednesday (see below) we wanted to get in touch with Al to get the full story, so that’s what we did this morning.

Tyler Gibbs will be racing the Manitoba Provincial series. He'll also race the Manitoba National and three Nationals in the East.

He did good at the first AMO race too. I think this is a smart move for him.

He went 6-6-7 for 6th overall.

I think it's great that him and his family are thinking of the big picture and coming up here as a stepping stone. Hopefully we see more US amateur riders take the same path.

In other news. It might be another long year for anyone not named Dylan Wright. Granted Pettis and Natzke weren't there.

1-28-1. Broke a chain in the second moto.

He was 4 second a lap faster than the next guy.

Sebastien Racine took the overall 2-1-3.

Tanner Ward 5-2-2 for 2nd.

Chris Blackmer 4-3-4 for 3rd.

Quinn Amyotte 3-4-5 for 4th.

Dylan Wright 1-28-1 for 5th.

He was fairly competitive with Amyotte, and it was his 2nd time riding the track, first time racing it. New to a 250F and Honda. He’ll be a solid 4-7 guy this year. Great kid

I have no doubt he'll do well. He's on one of the best teams with great people surrounding him.

I'm just glad we have some talent coming up to make the class that more interesting.

He's 17. Still has plenty of time to learn/develop before making the big jump to the US.

Good on Tiger! Getting shunted out if the TLD spot by Cole so being proactive and taking this ride will be good for him.

Multiple press on it, but is it confirmed Drew Adams will be in Canada this summer?

Yes. He's in for the first three rounds and possibly more depending on how it goes.
