Rush to play "Moving Pictures" live

Edited Date/Time 1/24/2012 11:16am
Rush just announced the tour dates for the new tour-- they are in the studio right now. And looks like they are playing MP in its entirety.
(And if you hate Rush and Geddy Lee's voice, no need to inform us here)

I don't think it's possible to play 2112 too loud.

You know it. I have seen them there 3 times so far. I have a friend who is the head of security at
our other summer outdoor venue and I can go to any show there for free. Even get box seating at some shows. But I would rather pay to see Rush at Red Rocks than go for free at Fiddlers Green.

The only problem I have is, Moving Pictures is great but I want more Rush. They do that then go? How about another hour?

It is just a part of the show, not the entire show.

I've never actually seen them in concert which is almost a crime considering they are one of my favorite bands. Their schedule looks pretty aggressive with a date just about every 2 days. Maybe I'll have to try to get tickets when they come through STL but I know they'll want WAY more than I'll want to pay.

It's just part of the show. They play three hours solid with no opener.
Neil Peart is in his late 50s and plays that level of music for three hours- pretty amazing.

I'd have to go with Red Barchetta.

Then...I'd take YYZ.

If you're a drummer...this is a Show that SHOULD NOT BE MISSED!

Where's the official Vital MX Show?

Agreed OC, 2112 is awesome. Jacobs ladder on permanent waves is another fav Rush song.

When moving pictures originally came out in 81? we played the Cassette until it broke

I found the ticket stub from the one and only time I've seen them live...Feb 19th, 1978...Hammersmith Odeon, London. Here's a coincidence...that was the Farewell to Kings tour...track 6 on that album is....Cygnus X - 1.

I am hoping they will break out Jacob's Ladder this tour. They haven't played that song live since the early 80s. I can see the doing it- I hope so because that would be epic.
They've done bits and pieces of 2112 on recent tours- the intro when the lights go down and that synth kicks on is killer.

To put my Rush geekiness on full display:
You know that Rush released a recording of that exact show in 1998 as a bonus disc on the Different Stages album? You might want to pick that up if you were there for that one!
