Watching qualifying at the stadium (Denver)

Once fanfest is open, the stadium is (partially) open. It's free seating to watch qualifying but it's only a portion of the stadium open until the afternoon once the event officially begins. So your seats you've purchased tickets for may be blocked off but you can sit anywhere there's an open seat during qualifying or similarly someone may be in your ticketed seat but your seat isn't assigned until the night show so they can be there if they'd like.

The “fan fest” is in the pits, so yes. 

It's a nightmare structure.
