Maybe a new one needs starting, a part 2?

Oh, the irony. That’s rich, coming from the guy that’s single handedly ruined this thread, every other thread, and Non-Moto in general.

Drone view of Mariupol.

It’s pretty crazy to think that other countries along with the US haven’t stepped in. When Iraq invaded Kuwait, the US along with its allies immediately stepped in. After seeing that devastation, it shouldn’t be allowed to continue unchecked regardless of Russia being a nuclear superpower.
That clip of Mariupol reminds me of footage during WWII. Fucking sad.

Iraq didn't have thousands of nuclear weapons

Oh, I’m well aware.
This situation in Ukraine would only seem to embolden other countries thinking, they can do whatever the hell they want.

The writing is on the wall and it’s clear Ukraine is going to lose, it’s only a matter of when.

Republicans in the house had 2 options: (1) block the bill and risk Ukraine losing before the upcoming election, or (2) pass the bill and hope Ukraine can hold out til they’ve all kept their seats. If option 1, the republican hold outs would get blamed for blocking aid that would have saved Ukraine. If option 2, even if Ukraine falls before the election, republicans can say “we did everything we could. Those republicans faced a political dilemma and opted for self preservation.

Also, here’s the section for military aid money for Ukraine directly from the bill:

For an additional amount for “Operation and Maintenance, Defense-Wide”, $27,930,780,000, to remain available until December 31, 2024, to respond to the situation in Ukraine and for related expenses: Provided, That of the total amount provided under this heading in this Act, $13,772,460,000, to remain available until September 30, 2025, shall be for the Ukraine Security Assistance Initiative: Provided further, That such funds for the Ukraine Security Assistance Initiative shall be available to the Secretary of Defense under the same terms and conditions as are provided for in section 8148 of the Department of Defense Appropriations Act, 2024 (division A of Public Law 118–47): Provided further, That of the total amount provided under this heading in this Act, up to $13,414,432,000, to remain available until September 30, 2025, may be transferred to accounts under the headings “Operation and Maintenance”, “Procurement”, and “Revolving and Management Funds” for replacement, through new procurement or repair of existing unserviceable equipment, of defense articles from the stocks of the Department of Defense, and for reimbursement for defense services of the Department of Defense and military education and training, provided to the government of Ukraine or identified and notified to Congress for provision to the government of Ukraine or to foreign countries that have provided support to Ukraine at the request of the United States: Provided further, That funds transferred pursuant to the preceding proviso shall be merged with and available for the same purposes and for the same time period as the appropriations to which the funds are transferred: Provided further, That the Secretary of Defense shall notify the congressional defense committees of the details of such transfers not less than 15 days before any such transfer: Provided further, That upon a determination that all or part of the funds transferred from this appropriation are not necessary for the purposes provided herein, such amounts may be transferred back and merged with this appropriation: Provided further, That any transfer authority provided herein is in addition to any other transfer authority provided by law: Provided further, That such amount is designated by the Congress as being for an emergency requirement pursuant to section 251(b)(2)(A)(i) of the Balanced Budget and Emergency Deficit Control Act of 1985.

You’ll notice that the bill provides transfer authority. This means that money can be moved out of the Ukraine budget and into the procurement fund for our military to replace outdated equipment. So half the “Ukraine money” is really just money to buy new contracts for updated equipment to replace the old stuff we send to Ukraine. That means Ukraine will see a fraction of that $28b in actual cash or even in military equipment value. If we send Ukraine 20 year old middles and replace those with brand new, top of the line tech for $1b, then we deduct that $1b from the Ukraine fund even though we spent that money on ourselves and sent them equipment worth far less than $1b.

The war in Ukraine is how I imagine watching the western front from 1915 to 1917 must have been.

The meat grinder continues.

Ukraine is not going to lose. Russia has been stagnated for two years now. The only reason they made slight gains in the past few months is because the aid was cut off. Additionally, France seems committed to sending in troops if things get dire.

French troops? What are they gonna do, mime their way to victory? Baguette bayonets aren't very effective.

There's a story about how British soldiers wore red vests so that if one in the line was wounded, the blood would be less noticable and better for morale. Likewise, the French army wore brown pants.

The war in Ukraine is how I imagine watching the western front from 1915 to 1917 must have been.

The meat grinder continues.

Last night i watched a video put up by Ryan Macbeth,

Showed Russians going through what was a wood / wooded windbreak, and the aftermath of a battle.

Obviously, the bodies seem to be from  quite some time before this 'walk', as the Numerous bodies were quiet desiccated.

Pretty much everything indicated they were Russian bodies.

Reminiscent of scenes of battlefields from WW1. Just dreadful stuff.

Ryan's last comment about how the Russians don't / can't seem to, or want to, recover bodies  really does reinforce their 'meat grinder' tactic.

All this Death and Destruction because a F**kwit wants a return to Empire.

We haven't touched on this pleasant subject in a bit.

If i understand what happened correctly, US guided missile shot by Ukraine toward Crimea using US satelite technology shot down by Russia raining down shrapnel on beach . Russia vows retaliation.

The USA is now considering allowing " contractors" to participate in the Ukraine war.

Considering? Nah, they have been there since 2014. For all who believe this is a war about greed you are mistaken. This is about NATO and moving and placing bases on the Russian border. Someone mentioned meat grinder and that is correct. They don’t give two shits about the people. Zelensky the coke headed bribe gathering loser of a president just does what the US tells him to do.

Not what I am referencing. That is what it is because our bases are on our land. The CIA started popping “private military” bases up in 2014 try and keep up here NATO doesn’t mean shit. It is a strong arm for the US via weapons, drugs, and money.
