1993 YZ250 Restoration - Bradshaw Replica

3/8/2016 2:22am
I only have the profile picture of my bike at the minute. I still have the new plastics to put on the bike along with the swing arm decal radiator shroud decal and side number plate decals. The bike is half in pieces again after replacing rear swing arm for a better one also half way through rebuilding front and rear brake master cylinders and calipers. I have not been taking pictures to document my progress. Alex at Rival Ink produced the decals for me but did not have the fork guard decal. If I can supply a good quality close up picture to him he will then have the complete decal kit.

Ahhh! I thought you were after the Bradshaw decals.

Ok, ill get you the stock decal photo. I'm not sure if the 80 and 250 are much different? I only have an 80.

That would be fantastic my research says that the 80 has a different decal to the 125 and 250 but hey they are very similar. It will give me something to work with anyway.

Actually no I will correct myself I just looked at partshark.com OEM parts for the two bikes and looks like they are identical. I thought possibly the 80 could be a smaller decal but looks like they are the same.

Maybe you could tell me something about your bike I have had trouble getting the intake airbox boot to fit up to the carby properly it sort of goes half way on just doesnt seal up real well. Thought that the boot on the airbox could have distorted over time so I bought another airbox and boot thinking this would fit up properly to the carb but same thing happend. In one of the pictures it looks like you could have a reed spacer fitted in between cylinder intake and reed cage? I have orderd one off Ebay thinking that this will move carby back towards the intake boot enough to give me a proper seal in to the boot!!

It's a Pro Taper billet clamp for a later YZ. I wanted fat bars without adapters but couldn't find a top clamp to suit. The later YZ has the same offset but slightly larger diameter forks so I machined up some sleeves. Worked perfect!

A thing of beauty.

Rather than copy, I wonder if I could create a blue/white one that the team used in 95. Difficulty would be seat cover I guess.

Cheers guys. davyboy944 speak to evomx about your project - I'm sure they will be able to help. They did all of my stuff including the seat cove, all of which didn't exist before this project.

Anyway, put the finishing touches on this today - now complete.

Hey man, amazing job on your bike! I don't know if I mentioned before, but I bought some purple suede material off Amazon for my Emig replica seat and had it stitched in by an upholstery shop. It really made the difference and I get compliments on it all the time. No photo description available.

Sorry to highjack... wanted to share a couple more photos. I love the looks of the 93 Yamaha factory bikes. I did a race on my 125 a couple years ago...
