If GH thinks MX Sports is unreasonable, wait until YS is done with them.
They will be able to make a 55 gallon drum disappear by sitting on it.
I don't get it, you ever had any dealings with YS, how do you know how they work with companies. I think you need to talk to people like Sylvain Geboers and Steve Dixon two of the long term team owners in MXGP. Both those guys and many more see the future as being bright under YS.
One of Jonathan Beasleys best mates is David Clabaugh. You think Clabaugh would take the MXoN if Budds Creek didn't make a packet of money.
Everyone can win in these deals, but most of all Motocross.
Geoff
If you use your own money to make a career it even more expensive now as a rider/team
If you're good at marketing and do it the other way around you can make more money now, cause you have more exposure and a nicer pit etc.
For the clubs/trackowners I really don't know. I think it's more diffcult now, but without the chance of making more money. I guess the best spots are reserved for the promotors sponsors? When it comes to attendance it's not what it used to be since people follow it on tv/internet instead. Most visitors to mx-races are riders or ex-riders. I have a feeling there are less riders today than 10 years ago because of noise shutting down tracks, fourstrokes to expensive to repair etc.
MXON is a special race, and it has gained interest the last years and has great live attendance and a good chance of making money. With very high demands on the club when it comes to ordinary gp I THINK it's not easy for them to make a profit
I can tell you, if the teams were depending on the Industry/Factories the sport would be in big trouble and it's the presentation of the YS events that is attracting big companies like Monster, Red Bull, Teka, Rockstar.
The European Motorcycle market is so small it's ridiculous, yet the Grand Prix series is growing.
So where is the problem, older riders can't get in, younger riders have to do their National championships a little longer before getting picked by a GP team.
Most GP circuits have some type of government backing, which pays for a lot of the YS sign on fee. Circuits like Sevlievo, Mantova, Valkenswaard, Agueda, Bellpuig, Teutschethal, Lommel, Lierop, Loket, St Jean A'ngely, and Uddevalla have been around a long time on the series, they all keep coming back, so you think they lose money on these races?? Of course they are not.
Stop reading BS in American magazines such as MXAction and pull your head out of your ass. The YS way is much better than people might thing.
Geoff
My guess is that they know just a tiny bit more about both YS and MX sports than the experts here on vital.
It could all be bunk and only time will tell.
If it's true we will be there--I luv Euro Moto!
My point was that the new way is better for everyone in the longrun, but I was unsure for the clubs/trackowners. You still haven't convinced me there.

A chat with Steve Dixon would be interesting if you could get him to tell you the truth.
You know all about how much "success" he had with running his GP's in England right ??
Why don't YOU ask Beasley how he did?
I was there.
More people show at the annual Blue&Grey experts points race then
were at that GP.
If you can get an honest answer as to how succesful the GP's he organized and financed were you will be surprised.
I can't wait to see this race. I think Youthstream will do a great job, just like they did at Budds Creek.
