And don't play girls sports

I’ve mentioned before that part of why I visit Non-Moto is to see what the other half of America is thinking about. In the bubble I live in, you'd be the anomaly.

I don’t understand why the camp that is all about free speech and individual rights cares so much about how a small group of people want to live their lives.

This day, regardless of the date it falls on has always been a celebration of Jesus Christ. It shouldn’t be cross referenced with any other celebration. Even for one day. It has nothing to do with free speech. It has to do with what this day stood for long before anything else going back to his resurrection. Values, religion and, core beliefs.

Loaded question I’ll assume.

Was I baptized? Yes. I attended church from ages 5-18. Then a bit when I was 20. I came to the conclusion I couldn’t be a hypocrite. I couldn’t attend church while dating strippers, banging preachers daughters, doing drugs, partying, then all of a sudden I’m good after attending Sunday. So, I say it’s better to be an honest sinner than a hypocrite.

Edit: And, now after going back and seeing your little boy post, take your Facebook balls and choke on them Bitch. Cause you know damn well, you’d never run your punk mouth to anyone face to face.

Try treating people nicer when you disagree with their words or actions. Take care...

I was raised Catholic and today don’t have a religion. Coming here and having this conversation shows me how truly important the day is to some people.

However, for me, it’s meaningless. I wouldn’t even know today was Easter if it wasn’t for this Trans Visibility Day making headlines and firing people up.

I’m sure there are a ton of other holidays that are extremely important to other religions and cultures that you don’t acknowledge at all. Those days are just another day to you.

While Christianity might seem like the default way of life in your community, it isn’t. It’s a faith and religion that you have the freedom to follow, but not the freedom to enforce on others.

Especially since the date of Easter changes every year, you can’t let it just cancel anything else that happens annually because it shares a calendar date this year.

That’s the difference. You’re assuming. To me,  if it’s a day important to others, let them have it and, practice their beliefs. Don’t encroach on it either.

Another commercialized holiday joins the list. Money sadly makes the world go 'round. One of my sons is an Atheist and knows more about religion than his Catholic dad. I'm trying to stick with my faith but jeepers it's tough sometimes.

We all, leaders especially, need to set better examples for others.

It should apply to all equally yes , but therein lies the problem . There are a lot of religions out there that each have a lot of special days to them . Many of these special days are based on the moon cycle like Easter is , so they don’t fall on the same day every year either . Trying to manage the feelings and not offend ANY religion would be an organizational clusterfuck . I’m 100% on the side of total separation of religion and state .

They had freaks like this at the homecoming parade in my town. They're float was directly behind the cub scouts and my son. I had words with the boss of mental illness that day. If I could have beat the shit out of them all without going to jail, I would have.

I want to have this conversation with you, but I’m having trouble understanding your argument. If you say no other event can take place on this day, then Christianity and Easter are encroaching on everyone else. No one is stopping Christians from celebrating Easter today. I am hearing, and sorry if it wasn’t from you, that Trans Visibility Day shouldn’t be allowed to happen today, because it’s Easter.

I need to go to the CA DMV on Monday but they are closed to observe a Federal Holiday. Cesar Chaves day.

I tried using the online service for DL renewal and it was so convoluted and fucked up that i gave up.

How is Easter an encroachment? It’s the oldest Christian holiday.

It shouldn’t have happened  today. Just my opinion. It could’ve been given any other day and, everyone would be happy. Now, Easter and, TVD are associated with one another which shouldn’t happen.

Imagine if Trans Visibility Day was dedicated on April Fools Day. It’s just a holiday after all. Once again, they shouldn’t be associated with one another.

I guess I’m an Atheist but I think religion is one of the most interesting topics in the world. You’ll find that a lot of us know a lot about the subject, because a lot of us were raised inside it and began to question it.

My mom says from the time I was a toddler I was like “Really Mom? A big bunny came into our house and left candy all over it? Why?” And that questioning got applied to the rest of the story as I grew up. You feel ostracized for being the only person who doesn’t think the story adds up and you just go deeper trying to see what you’re missing. When you don’t have faith, you can’t accept the answers that require faith to make sense.

My mom would make a post like you did here. I don’t try to take away her faith, but I do remind her that you don’t need it to be a good person or set a good example.

Today is the 12th time since 1776 that Easter has fallen on March 31st. It’s the 15th time since 2009 that the Trans Day has fallen on March 31st.

I didn't say either day is encroaching on the other. I used the word you used.

The days aren’t forever linked. They just fell on the same day today. And why shouldn’t it happen? Do you think Jesus would be pissed off about it?

As we've discovered, there's good Atheists, and bad. Good Christians, and bad. Whatever makes us a better person should be the road to take. Lots of people trying to win battles instead of the war.

They happen to fall on the same day this year. I’m pretty sure that anyone with a strong Christian faith will not be all that bothered by much as they are expressing their gratitude for what Easter represents to them.

My personal belief is that we are all literally the same being. We are one distributed entity.

If matter can’t be created or destroyed, and it was all made in the same celestial Big Bang or snap of God’s fingers, then everything that has ever been and ever will be just get recycled and re-made.

Our bodies grow tissue from the things our mom eats, then from what we eat. It’s a phrase thrown around without much thought but very literally you are what you eat. Plants, animals, chemicals, et al.

I think the force of life must somehow be in these things too. Your brain keeps and processes your life experiences, making you who you are, but the fuel that keeps it all running comes from all around, then goes right back into the system when we die.

Point is, I’m not keeping score and, didn’t realize it went back to 2009. Not, afraid to admit when I’m wrong either so....

The only Holidays I pay attention to are the seven paid ones I get off each year. Carry on. * sarcasm

I don't know a single Christian who thinks a big bunny comes and leaves candy. It is an allegory.

So you believe you are a good person? What makes you good, and who decides?

I am a Christian, raised that way and also by personal choice. I do not think I am a good person. I can only try to do good things.

From sitting back and trying to see the big picture, to be making the declaration on the most holy day of the year is declaring their hatred of Christian’s and Christianity. Romans 1:28 sums it up.

This reminds me of the gay parades in Atlanta. Hundreds of queers marching down Peachtree wearing outfits that would make a stripper blush. I thought it was an odd way to make a stance on their choices in life. What's the point in letting everyone know your sex life is different than others. Do what you feel but keep it in your bedroom not Main Street U.S.A.

In my opinion the POTUS is panhandling for votes yet again...as more and more illegally enter our nation.

Of all of those above, how many did Biden take the time to "declare" or speak about?

Not enough of them! Thanks to Biden none of us knew to be outraged at farmers, Crayola, medievalists, taters, or anesthesia techs.

So you are a Pantheist?
