Why don't we have many new toys come out every couple years. For the most part I believe the last time Feld/Spinmaster made toys was back when Eli was still on Kawi and Roczen was on a Honda. There are some NewRay (I believe) toys, probably 1:10 or 1:12 scale with Tomac on a Yamaha, but why aren't there more toys out there.

I would think Jett and Deegan would probably be top sellers along with Tomac, Roczen, Webb, etc. seems like a no brainer to me, especially for the guys I mentioned. I wouldn't expect them to make these toys every year, but every 2-3 sure.

I wish they updated them every 2 years at least. Just not a big enough market I'm guessing. Tomac sells his own as a '22 YZ450F with optional #1 plates from 2022 championships. Best thing you can do is find the stock bike, get a cricut and make stickers for the number plates.

When I was a kid, I had a collection of Ridge Rider / Super Biker toys from Thrifty's, and I'd use model paint to change the Maico's into a Honda, with a #1 like RJ. Then I'd take the CMC Golden State National stickers and cut the little sponsor logos out and stick them on the fenders and swing arm. That was as factory as it got in the late 80's!

They had to stop the Cooper Webb "you're #1" victory solute model 😬

Nice....I don't have a Maico.

I do have this old KTM I found about 25 years ago.

Kids don’t want toys anymore, they want the newest fortnight skin.

We have made graphics kits for the toy bikes  for customers to have their own replica bikes.  On bikes that we have made the full sized graphic for already, scaling the size down to 1/6th, 1/10th, 1/12th or even 1/32nd gets most kits fitting pretty well.  The Kawasaki is the least scale of all the bikes. And adjustments need to be made to the full size templates other than shrinking.

It would take very little for a company who is already  producing the factory team kits to make scale toy kits. I am kinda surprised that there has not been some kits that have come out for the Losi RC bike from some big graphic companies.  Maybe the demand is not there, or the contracts they have do not allow it.

For anybody wanting to make their own toy decals, You can purchase the templates for the real bike and scale them down. And then if You are making them for a shelf display bike, You can print them on a desktop printer and cut them out with an x-acto knife. Craft stores have small hole punches that end up just about the correct size for most of the bolt holes that need to be cut out.  You would need software that You can edit  the file type for whatever template You purchase. A quick google search will be all it takes to find the templates.  You could probable find a website online that would print the decals on sticker grade vinyl. Setting up the files so the decals would be cut by the print service might be more advanced than a first timer wants to do. A local sign shop could also print off the graphics for you .You might just have trouble with certain logos if You are having them printed for you.

Look into water slide decals if you’re interested in making custom SX replica bikes. It’s the type of decal I’ve used for NASCAR models.

I was just looking at the 2024 Newray toys catalog. They have a 21 Kawasaki, A Cooper Webb  Star 450 as well as  Tomac . Webbs looks like its a photo of his bike. So I would expect it to look more like the Eli bike with the logos from the photo. But who knows maybe they will have the new bike. A sexton and AP KTM, Malcolm Stewart Husky. And some standard KTM's. Looks like a lot of the newer rider replica bikes are only in 1/12th scale .  Parts Unlimited dealers should be able to get most of these . I saw the brand added recently. And by now most of the distributors of Powersports stuff are also offering NewRay toys. So most dealers should be able to get them for you.  It is strange that Monster is not on any toys, but Red Bull and Rockstar are. image-20240327121206-2image-20240327121323-3image-20240327121424-5image-20240327121606-6image-20240327121755-7

This appears to be the only way you can have a "correct" looking Yamaha factory team diecast bike as they do not come with the monster claw logos.   Ridiculous as that seems.

When I worked in an office, I had those old die cast bikes all over my shelves. I like to think it separated me from the heard, but looking back I was still a IT dork.

According to the packaging,  you can play with the Honda at 8 years old but have to wait until 12 years old to play with the KTM 😅

That looks wayyyy better than those shitty toy bikes they show on Supercross every week 😂

The NewRay models are nice, I know they're pricier but at least they put effort into them.

Wow I just noticed that myself! I literally moved some things around to take the picture and I didn't even notice it there. I got that issue from my grandfather, going through his stuff after he passed away Laughing

That's not a dork...

I have an office full of early space flight models and Apollo collector memorabilia. Even got an original Fisher zero-G space pen lying around here somewhere to fit into my pocket protector. Now THAT's a Dork!

LOVE the XR400!

The 2002 CR250R with the Woody graphics looks like a Carmichael replica. Teammate Windham was on the new CRF450r then. Who is the #24 on the 2-stroke then? (Assuming its an '02 CR by the front fender before the '03 spade-nose fender).

#24 is Ernesto Fonseca.   Cool

The XR400 is the one I've had the longest, it's from the 90's.   Like a real bike, the white plastic has begun to yellow with age.

Yep. And they always yellowed at the tank first. Good memories. I remember they had a Baja model of the 400 with massive dual side-by-side headlights.

Damn...I completely forgot about Fonseca. I was thinking possibly Lusk at first, but he had he already switched from #24 to #11 and I think traded places between HRC/Kawi with Ricky in 02. Grew up watching RC and Ezra both race the South Ga tracks as kids on minis.

Don't worry, the real ones tank turned yellow too.
