He's 36 points behind Jett and 5th place in the standings, maybe this Beast mode Eli Tomac is truly gone, but I think AMA National Motocross might be an opportunity for him to retire knowing he gave JL a battle to the finish.  We've never seen the two of them race each other at the AMA Nationals aboard 450's.  I think after the Supercross series and by the first National, he'd have rode himself back into shape and be ready for a fight.

Jet Lawrence is insignificant in the legacy of Eli Tomac. Eli has nothing to prove against Jett. Eli is clearly not his old self this year...

Well I'd argue that Jett is to Eli, that RC was to McGrath and James was to RC, they're the riders that made great legends in...

Well I'd argue that Jett is to Eli, that RC was to McGrath and James was to RC, they're the riders that made great legends in SX and MX realize that it's probably time to retire, so Jett is significant in the legacy of Eli Tomac, because he's as talented, faster and also more willing to take the risks to win. Let's just say Jett is more Hungry like RC and Stewart once were.

Eli's coming back from an injury. He still may very well be the baddest dude out there.  Give him some time to get back to form.

He may have 3 or 4 more championships in him. Maybe 6.

I think that Podcast with RC and Villopoto was pretty spot on when they were talking about Eli and Daytona. That one section came up and RC said do I think that section cost him the race? Nah, He would have been closer but Eli reminds me of myself at the end of my career with James.

Eli is really good at riding in his comfort zone and because of that he rarely has a bad get off etc. With that said,  his comfort zone is incredibly, incredibly fast. In order to beat Lawrence he will have to ride outside of that comfort zone much like the decision Ricky had in the end with James. Ricky said for him, he wasn't willing to risk it and it happened to work out (James would crash here and there giving up too many valuable points etc-

I have no doubt Eli is capable of doing most anything on the track but his willingness to hang it out and risk injury at this age is likely what we are seeing-

I hope he gets a win or two before the season ends. He is fully capable.

My 2 cents from listening to some badass mofos-

IMO He will race a couple nationals for the points and the playoffs. Chasing a good playoff bonus $$$$

Now if I was a betting man, I would not be surprised to hear he pulls the plug after SX. After all he really does not need the money!

On a slightly different subject, I have picked Eli every time to place high on my fantasy team. Its been pretty disappointing, so far.  I just do not know If I can continue...

There is 1 championship that Tomac has not won.

We might possibly see a rejuvenated Tomac.

Ok, Ok, so I might have purposely been a little optimistic on the 6 Smile .

6 would be incredibly tough! I stand by the rest.

We really don't know where he's at, or what he's thinking.  We'll see how the rest of this season plays out.

Haha! I'd love to go to school! That bus stopped running around 1980.

BTW: My nick name actually is Mr. Radical!

It will depend on what his neural pathways are telling him. Tomac is deep inside his own head at the best of times, and I believe this is the reason for his bizarre inconsistencies throughout the years.
