SHORT 2010 SX Champ?

I honestly think that Short deserves his ride, if he's a title contender is another matter. The problem is in recent mx times there has only ever been a very elite group of riders i.e. one or two who can bring in a championship The McGrath, RC, Reed and JS7 era meant that 2 of the 4 japanese factories were always going to be relying on an injury to make a run at a title. and thats not taking anything away from the Short's and Langston's of this world, there is no doubting there talent on a bike. The GP's are the opposite, any one of 5 riders could legitimately make a run at the title this year.

What does personal bashing accomplish in a moto thread? Besides, isn't a redneck yuppie sort of an oxymoron? Would that be someone with lots of expensive cars strewn about his front yard, or someone who drives a mercedes but wears coveralls and a straw hat?

Well langston won the title, shorty and millsaps were in the series with him when he won it. But he isnt on a factory ride anymore. Well I think we can agree that he deserves a good ride and he is a great rider for others to look up to, but the riders who can possibly win a championship with all names healthy deserve the most elite of motorcycles to race on. Contracts are up this year anyway, so I guess we'll see how they decide it.

You need to get that rider who has got that extra, Millsaps had shown he might but so far hasn't strung anything together in the 450s.
Not many have brought home championships. By your logic, or lack there of, there would only be 4 factory riders in the 450 class and two of them have yet to win a championship on a 450.

Well if they want a championship in the near future they better do something, no one in here can say they see either factory honda boys winning a championship in the near future. They had their chance to shine, they are great riders but its time for a change.

Winning races is certainly one of the main things that a rider does for a race team, but that is not the only thing.


You have to promote your sponsors and develop the products. Andrew Short and Kevin Windham are probably the two best at the latter. They are also consistent and will put your bike/products in the top five week in and week out. They will do it with no hassle, they will do it and make the people around them enjoy working with them.


Honda loves Andrew. I don't expect him to go anywhere. I especially think that with the flashes of improved speed that Andrew has shown at the early SX rounds. The results hadn't been indicative of the increase in speed though. His lap times have never been so close to the top guys as it has this year. I think he will have a good chance of winning some races this summer.


Guys like Short, Windham and Dungey that are hard working, good guys are my favorite to root for in this sport.

Did you see regal in the outdoors? He is clearly very fast on the big bike, and he was on a not great bike. Well i'm sure it was good but unno. And it was more of an example of a hungry rider who could maybe take it to one of the top guys under the factory rigs.

Regal didnt even know how to ride sx before the year started and I still thought he looked good in the first east round. I guess he's jumping up to the 450 for the later rounds so we'll see if he's better on it like he says
