RV is my favorite rider and It would be unreal to see a NW boy win a big bike sx title but I play a lot of poker and my money only goes in the pot if I'm a favorite. (well that's my intention at least..lol) With a 17 pt deficit I'd think if vegas had odds on the board for this title RD would have to be at least a 2-1 or 3-1 favorite right now because of his lead so If I absolutely had to bet my last dollar it would go on RD.

I'd have to go with Dungey. I think RV will win the majority of the races from here on out, but Dungey will get a few more wins as well. I just don't think RV has enough time to close the lead, as I don't think he can win every single remaining race.

Dungey chokes in 4 races max...
What is with all this "choking" shit? Dungey has more than proven his mettle by this point in time. Both Ryans have thrown away some points, like I mentioned in an earlier post, b/c they are trying to win this fucker! Their speed is too close to call. It is going to come down to starts, smarts, and not having one more throw away race. Its getting to close to the end for that to happen to either one at this point. I hope they stay healthy and see this thing right through to Vegas! If I had to choose, I'll take RD by a pubic hair, but both are studs right now for sure. I wouldn't be unhappy either way-they are both deserving and both have proven to be the bigs dogs thus far in 2010.

Can't wait for the FUCKING OUTDOORS!!

no shit that is so "two years ago" and even then he damn near won it in spite of what happened to him.. Man get a grip he is on another level now right there knocking on the door of yet another championship in his rookie year and if he loses he lost it to the best man period.

If Villopoto wins four of the remaining seven races with Dungey fininshing second in each of those, and Villopoto finishes a "two point position" ahead of Dungey in the other three races then Villopoto gains 18 points on him and wins the championship by one point. Dungey with a win or two and consistent results will hopefully get it done but Villipoto is just as deserving as anybody. I'm just glad to see two all around good guys with a chance to take home the plate.

Last year at this point in the Championship JS7 was down 11 points to CR22 and came
back to win the SX Championship. Who do you think will win the 2010 SX Championship? This is not about who is your favorite rider, but if you had to put a bet down in Vegas right now, who would it be?
Dungey will win the title. The reason is, when Stewart comes back RV is going to be second at best. So when RV beats Dungey the points earned over him are going to be far less. RV needs Stewart to stay away another 3 weeks. If he does then RV has a really good shot at this thing just like I predicted in week 1. Blush

So if Stewart who barely beat Dungey in the opening round comes back he is going to dominate RV2 who has been beating RD consistently. James is going to be faster than he was at the beginning of the year without racing. RD & RV have beaten third by 30+ seconds the last 2 weekends because they have elevated their game and James is going to just come in at that level. I don't think so, but your the GREAT KreskinHuh

Reed and Stewart will come back, and Villopoto will throw it away trying to battle with them. Theyre both in different situations. Villopoto is in the Jlaw08 situation (just go win). While Dungey is in the Dungey08 situation (watchin that points lead slip away)

Villopoto is in a win or wad mode.
Dungey is in a 'take it lap by lap' mode.

If i had to bet? Villopoto, just because those damn red heads always win titles.

I personally want to see Dungey win it.

Okay, if i had to place a BET? I'd bet on a ryan winning this thing Smile

Thats great betting advice "just bet on Ryan to win the title". Yeah it is tough to say what JS and CR are going to be like when they come back, Reed set the fastest time at daytona but later it was openly stated that he had a daytona replica built at his house before the event...Stewart barely beat dungey at anaheim, but dungey really looked to be the only rider to be 100% ready to race at the opener. Villo, Reed, Stewart, etc all looked to be struggling a little bit. Villo got back to his normal self and now is outta the shadow of dungey, we never got a chance to see JS and CR shake the cobwebs off. I have a feeling that they will be fast as ever if they come back to the series, why would they come back when they weren't 100% ready? They are outta the points now its only about getting wins, they will mixing the points up when they come back just watch.

Dungey, I think he's got a few more wins in him this year and every win he gets negates at least 3 of the points RV has made up on him.

When's it's all over RV will be this years SX Champion.

He's 17 points down, but that can be made up in one main event, IMO.

As soon as Reed and James return the top 1-4 spots can all be flipped flopped and RV will be more aggressive and close the points gap.

I wouldn't be surprised to see RD have a bad night and lose 10+ points in one event.

Im thinkin RV cause he seems a bit faster and will have a better chance of puting a rider or two between him and RD.

Villopoto is KILLING it right now. Even James acknowledged it.

It's been a great season, can't wait to see what happens with James and Reed back in the mix.

I totally agree with a guy that races at Hannagen, did i spell it right.

I see Villo winning and Dungey having at least one bad race. RV2 will take this title.

My heart wants Villopoto to win big time, but a 17 point deficit is a lot of points. It leaves him very little room for error. Having said that, if Dungey has a crash or mechanical, Villo could make up a bunch of points in a hurry the same way he lost them with that dirt-in-the-tailpipe incident. I really like em both but like Villo more.

And I'll tell you one thing, the MXDN in Colorado, with the team being 1. Villo 2. Dungey 3. Canard will be one kickass team (PLEASE no injuries this year!)

Right on Pilot dude, Ive been rootin for villo for years, he is one of the few who can rise to these occasions and I believe he will win the title. Yes canard should be a good pick hopefully he stays healthy, I really believe he would have been in the hunt for the outdoor title if he hadnt busted that arm. This is his year to put it to pourcel.

I think that Stewart would be in the hunt for WINS if he came back, idk about you but I've never seen JS on the track and settling for a place not on the top of the box, he'll win it or get crashed out. As far as speed comin back off the couch, Reed said he was un impressed and came to Daytona, and set the fastest lap, with little time on the bike. Wonder how he'll do a couple weeks later?

You mean except Seattle and Vegas last year and Anaheim II this year. That would be 3 of his last 6 races. James is getting wiser as he gets older and the injury filled seasons
continue to plague his career. He won't be coming back until he is 100% healthy and up
to full speed which could mean next year. The fastest practice lap doesn't win races. Being able to go faster than your practice laps when the track is rough & rutted for 20 laps wins races. Yes, I wonder how he'll do a couple of weeks later, I can't wait for James and Chad to come back to see if the Ryan's have risen to their pace or are still
a step below. This is a great SX season we are witnessing every week. Can't wait for
this weekend in big "D".

Wasn't your answer to the original question, J-Law! Woody can be a little over-zealous.
I guess we will have to wait and see who has more brains as if who wins a supercross is the quantification for determining someones intelligence. Its an opinion based on some facts, some common sense, and the all important belief in our favorite rider, RV2.
I've heard that RD5, JS7, and CR22 fans can be just as zealous at times in making predictions for their favorite. Its all good, because as fans of MX/SX we are enjoying this
year and the drama and circumstance that has made up this season.
