"A federal judge is upholding new Arizona laws that would require registered voters to provide proof of U.S. citizenship in order for their votes to be counted.
Arizona legislators faced accusations of discrimination when they adopted the laws requiring counties to verify the status of registered voters but, in a ruling Thursday, U.S. District Judge Susan Bolton ruled that such requirements were not discriminatory.
Bolton said the state has an interest in preventing voter fraud and limiting voting to those individuals eligible to vote.
"Considering the evidence as a whole, the court concludes that Arizona’s interests in preventing non-citizens from voting and promoting public confidence in Arizona’s elections outweighs the limited burden voters might encounter when required to provide (documentary proof of citizenship)," the judge wrote."

All voting should be in-person, with ID. Period. Few of any of the people crying “rascism” or “discrimination” regarding voter ID laws give a damn about the people in question. They care about guaranteed votes for their party.

I've never understood why it's racist/discriminating to require an ID to vote, but it's not racist/discriminating to assume minorities/poor people can't or don't know how to get an ID.

This law has little to do with actual mail-in voting, it is about those who do vote being eligible to vote.
Mail-in voting has an integrity issue, you should take pride in your voting and go down to the polling place and vote like a normal person.

If I couldn't vote by mail, there would have been years where I could not have voted. I have been caught up on brush fires on election day and I know I'm not alone. You can't shut down fire suppression so people can go vote. What a major clusterfuck that would be.

It's not the "voting by mail" that's a problem. It's the state sending out 5 gazillion ballots to people that didn't ask or deserve them. If you go show an ID and ask to vote by mail. OK, but the way it is, all the ballots go out to unexpecting people that have no clue. Those ballots get returned filled out by other than the legitimate person who never knows. You also have delivery carriers that can just throw out ballots from a whole neighborhood in an area heavy leaning one side. Then, you also get counterfeit ballots mixed in. Just too much opportunity for fraud.

Pretty easy stuff. Must be an American citizen, have 2 forms of valid ID. They should make it lock tight so nobody ever questions the system. Mail in voting, should be available but in the traditional sense. 1. military 2. Disability 3. Forms must be submitted in advance to request mail in voting.

I was actually going to make a much longer post explaining more things about how secure mail in voting is, but it will fall on deaf ears with you. You don’t care about facts. No matter what, if your guy loses, it has to be fraud. That’s it. End of story. So it’s pointless to try to convince you guys otherwise. I’ll just continue to vote so my vote at least cancels out yours and people like you. You guys will just continue losing by millions of votes nationally, but always have a slim chance to win the Electoral College. A bit of reading comprehension issues?
It used to be you had to ask for a mail in ballot, typically with a reason why you can't vote in person. When you ASK, you are already expecting to get it in the mail and have the "intent" to vote. You might follow up to confirm. When the state just sends ballots out to people who don't care or haven't any intent to vote, who do you think will follow up on the accuracy? Or check that the ballot is filled out by the legitimate voter. Doesn't happen, ripe for fraud.
