Just curious what you guys think at this point.
Mx1
1st Clement Desalle
2nd Tony Cairoli
3rd Ken De Dyker
Ramon and ,Philippaerts, should be right up there too but I think CD25 and TC222 just have too much speed for them and I think the 2010 yamaha will agree with big Ken really well for some reason. My dark horse for the mx1 class this year is Rui Goncalves. I've never seen him on a mx1 bike so it's tough to put him in the top 3 but it wouldn't surprise me if he won a GP or two this year. Albertson is a dark horse too but I don't think he'll win a GP although I do see him possibly hitting the podium a couple times.
Mx2
1st Marvin Musquin
2nd Ken Roczen
3rd Gautier Paulin/Shawn Simpson ---Toss up
I think the dark horse in the mx2 is Jeffrey Herlings. The kids fast and will for sure win at least 1 maybe 2 GP's but I don't see him being a title threat til he gets a full year of GP's under his belt. Frossard could show up and be the man too on the PC bike but he's never shown great consistency so it's tough to put him in the top 3 overall.
Both fields are deep and with the new mandatory age limit for mx2 now it's going to make the mx1 class deeper and deeper each year. Can't wait for the GPs to start.

and to add to those main favorites, i can also see a win or two from barragan and some surprises from tanel leok........i think tanel is very good and fits good the kind of team bevoerts has going on LSmotors, desalle showed they do things right there......
in the mx2 i guess everybody is not really counting with simpson, he was out most of last year and musqin and rockzen didn't race him, so he comes in under the radar and has already shown great speed.....he can turn all your predictions around......

I hate the coach of Musquin.
He's still too young for the actual GPs, and, to put his speed into perspective, his speed over 20 minutes at Valence on a 125 was the same as the top WMX runners Laier and Lancelot on 250Fs, though he had better single lap speed by three seconds, but still ten down on Musquin, Roczen, Simpson, Frossard and Paulin. Those five, plus Zach (his Yam with Cosworth internals hauls !), will decide the MX2 title. Herlings can run with them in sand if he can last the 40 minutes, but is two seconds a lap off them on hard-pack.
In MX1 Desalle and Philippaerts can run with Cairoli, possibly, but only possibly, Barragan or Pourcel too if they get their act together, or Nagl if he can find his starts again. The rest, forget it, though De Dycker or Coppins can run podium finishes at times. Goncalves won't even ride a bike before the first GP after a shoulder op in January.
Jimmy builds more confidence every week, and should run a good top ten; nobody asks any more of him in his rookie season, and his performances to date just show what a solid worker with talent from the privateer ranks can achieve, if they are given the opportunity !
But heah, how refreshing that so many of you guys over there are actually interested in the GPs. My compliments !
MX2: Musquin, ???, ??? . No Roczen.
However i didn't find it a sick post. I really hope all works fine, but I think he's going to try too much, too soon.
