51 hp stock. Ferry hole shotted from the outside. The factory bike is even powerful. So how much money to you spend on the other brands to match the power of a stock Triump? Probably will get 3x on the chain and sprockets over the Asian bikes.

It is an Asian bike.. made in Thailand. I’ve got one on order. Can’t f’ing wait.

I don’t think that 51 number is accurate though. From what I heard it’s the best power to weight ratio but is the lightest. So could be less peak than a KTM which I’d expect. But their motor alone weighs 4 pounds less than a ktm!! Impressive

If true, that is very impressive!  Where did you get that info?

Haven’t seen the motor weight info listed anywhere. Where did you see that if I can ask?
The ktm engines were already pretty light. Would be kinda shocked if you could shave another 4# off it.

Talking to their rep at a trade show.

What’s also interesting is production was delayed by a year due to them trying to use a steel frame originally. Ricky scrapped the idea, said it just wasn’t going to work. So they developed the aluminum frame you see today

That’s crazy if true about the engine weight.

the frame tidbit is interesting.  The one they are using looks fairly similar to the one ktm tested a few years ago.

Yes it looks like a nice motorcycle. I think you should be asking yourself why can't I by one when it is being raced in a production bike class? If they are racing it why can't Joe public? Fair is fair and that is the intent of production bike rules. Only the 450 class has ever had works bikes for each manufacturer for 1 year, NEVER 250's. Same with the suspension for the 250 class, if a racer can't purchase it', it can't be used. You have no idea what the team is using nore does the AMA because they have NO production bike to compare it to.

They have 10 days to get 200 bikes onto showroom floors along with sufficient parts availability, but we all know the "penalty" will be a nothing burger.

Yes they do. It's been homoligated. They have till March to make the units available to the public. I'm told I should have mine in April-may ish. They didn't use any exemptions

Correction, they have not yet met current homologation rules.

You'll be seeing a lot more of them out within the next week and a half. No need to throw shade at them prior to any deadlines.

The bike is homologated. As long as the units become available by the deadline, there is no issue. You can't race a non-homologated bike. They just used the loophole that allowed for them to race and have until March 1 for units to become publicly available.

Doesn't make it "Not homologated". They have currently met the standard, and as long as by march 1 those units are available, there's no issue.

You are basically saying KTM group races a non-homologated bike every year with the new factory editions that aren't available to the public until months after A1

No need to. There's been so many guys in this thread with absolute BS info and not one has replied once they got corrected. You should explain how they are racing a non-homologated bike without a works exemption.

The answer? It's homologated. And if they don't produce the required units by March 1, they pull it and deal with the ramifications. It's just a condition in the homologation agreement. No different that KTM group every single year with factory edition bikes.

When you purchase a house and know you have to have your down payment by a specific date, it's still sold. To you. Regardless if you can come up with the down payment or not. Same concept. If you can't come up with it on that date, well ya bought a house you legally couldn't afford and have to deal with the ramifications now. Doesn't mean ya didn't purchase the house. Means you couldn't afford the house you bought.

Not sure how it works in Canada but in the states you buy a house you don't get the keys until escrow closes. Which means the loan funds 1st. No money no keys. I said the intent of the rule. If you can't buy it to race it is not technically homologated by their rules.
