Be more interesting to see Thad Duvall back on a 250. Also, the team bagged it's first pro win this morning with Rachel Archer winning WXC over Korie Steede and Brandy Richards

I’m interested to see if Strang sticks out the year on the Sherco…we all know how that bike held up to a GNCC Pro the first time.

He's already been caught by the XC2 leaders.

The TV coverage of this is pretty dam good and informative. These GNCC guys are the real deal.

What is up with the 250b rider leading the overall? Noticed it on the broadcast and live timing. Surely its a mistake but how? Screenshot 20240218-140234 Chrome

Is it just me or is there a lot less on the ground footage than past years?

Seems like we’re seeing 99% drone footage of tree tops with unidentifiable riders going underneath.

I am impressed with how the commentators can ID riders by riding style alone from the drone.

That was a great ride by Girrior. Something tells me if he got on a streak the rest of the dudes could be in trouble.

Good ride by Dante for a West Coaster. Dudes legit.

Strang ended up 12th. Pretty solid.

I was the most impressed by Grant Baylor, he last in the start and got 3rd. If he can stay a little more consistent this year he could be fighting for the championship

Yeah, that was pretty impressive.  That's kinda his style, usually takes him a few laps to get going but once he does he's often times the fastest dude on the track.

If Johnny can keep it together he will be a threat for if not the champion in both GNCC and National Enduro.

Dante reminds me of Curt.  He’s really, really good at riding a dirtbike, regardless of the discipline.

I suppose you're not wrong, but the YZ450 is a GNCC Championship and race winning machine.  It has proven more than capable of the task in a multitude of "hard use" off road series.

To point out one DNF and compare it to the shitshow that was Sherco trying to build a bike for Stew/GNCC is not even close to the same universe.

I actually hope that Strang proves it's a capable machine, more rides in off road is always a good thing....but I have my doubts still.

GNCC is basically like a 3 hour National Moto for the guys at the top end, it puts some serious strain on the bikes.  I pointed this out right from the get go when Sherco signed Stew and got blasted for it here, then we all saw what happened once the rubber met the road.

*And yes, I know the Sherco has done well in European enduro races but that is not the same as the 2-3+ hour wide open races that we do in America.  The strain on the bike is just different.
