The two strokes don’t feel as harsh for some reason.
I've heard. Still holding out for the 2025 models. Maybe they will fix the bugs.
I agree if a Factory Edition 300SX was available, my wallet would be empty!

Congrats on the new bike! Can that Vp fuel be run in a stock bike? I always run the T4 because I have not done any motor work other than an Fmf pipe and exhaust on an sxf 250.
Thanks man. Yes, you can run it in stock motors. You’ll actually notice a little power gain over pump fuel.
Thanks, appreciate it.
Damn what a beauty.
If I could find any enjoyment in riding a 450, I now know exactly which one I would buy! Congrats on the new toy.
I think that is a 250.
Well my girlfriend sure wish I never read that haha.
I don’t know why but I thought they only made a 450 factory edition. Guess I thought wrong.
They usually only have the 450. This year they have 250s for all three brands. 2022 is when they started doing 250 FEs when there was a major change. Assuming that doesn’t change I would assume next year they will have only 450s (and maybe the 350xcf).
Had a scan through this thread a couple of times and can't quite seem to work out the difference in chassis'
2023: First of the new gen chassis (too stiff for many)
2024: Same as 2023?
2024 FE: Updated softer chassis
2025: Updated softer chassis
Do I have this correct?
Thanks in advance
Yup that is right on the money. I dont think there will be anymore changes until the new chassis comes out in 2 or so years. Maybe some engine updates? But the 250 and 450 engines are rock solid so I have a hard time seeing anything coming up.
They always have 250 and 450 FEs
Thanks mate, my local dealer has a GasGas Factory edition coming in (https://www.gasgas.com/en-gb/models/motocross/4-stroke/mc-450f-factory-…)
Do you know if this shares the new frame as KTM FE?
Yep thats on the new chassis
There was no 2021 or 2023 250 FE KTM or Husky unless you count the 2023 Gasgas but then there was no 2022 gasgas 250 FE.
Pit Row
Thank you, although getting some conflicting information from dealers..
Was hoping to pick one up in the morning but want to be 100.00% sure its the same new "fixed" frame as the KTM
Those dealers must not know their shit. As long as its the "2024" Gas Gas Factory Edition, then you will receive the same updates KTM & Husqvarna received. This includes the motor mounts, updated frame, and the litpro thing along with some minor updates. If you look at the link below, it clearly states everything.
2024 GASGAS FACTORY EDITION MOTOCROSS MACHINES LOADED WITH THE LATEST DIRT BIKE TECH!
Correct. I'm waiting for 2025 so I can get the updated frame on a 300.
Thanks mate, off to pick one up!
So realistically if we were to put together a reasonable "budget" list of everything to "fix" the bike:
- New link (brands tried so far incl. RE)
- Floating axle
- Engine mounts
I've read elsewhere that the chain tension drastically effects the shock/frame harshness?
Does anyone else care to chime in?
To me it looks like the big ones are clamps and a linkage systems, no idea how effective engine hangers and the floating axle is.
Cheers, I see others have mentioned different sprocket sizes, is this to alleviate some of the chain tension as per this video?
With my chain slack set at 65mm (bike on stand with shock installed) and 14/51t sprockets my chain does get tighter as it runs to fully compressed, but it does not get too tight.
I watched the Swap video on the new frame and the KTM tech in the video said most of the gains as far as flex comes from is the linkage. Will be interesting to know if you can bolt on the entire linkage from the 2025 on the 2023/2024.
Post a pic when you get that bad girl
Can you elaborate on the floating axle?
So in its entirety, here is what was updated.
- Frame cutouts and slimmer wall thickness
- Engine mount cutouts
- Linkage bolt is thinner and seals are better
- Swingarm was slightly updated to reduce wear
The chain tensioning is because the placement of the pivot point compared to the counter shaft. A larger countershaft sprocket would slightly change this, but I don't think ti would go away completely like the old bikes.
