Best case splitting tool or kit ?

For a 2004 cr125 .  I want to match the cases  & do some trenching . Using an electric Dremel . So I need a quality built case splitter tool kit.  The cases are not made anymore.  A quality case splitter should help not cracking the cases. Thx

I use a Tusk one with no issues. Just always use patience.

I've had my TUSK case splitter and it works great. I've had it for years now.

The Tusk looks sturdy with the steel arms. I got the engine out in the storage unit 1/2 mi from the Bay.  Windy ,very damp & cold my hands were froze.  Took the clutch out & removed other stuff outside.  Do you think a 25 yr old sears dremel tool would hv enough power the trench the cases ?  The grinding bits r pretty good now.  Rocky mtn has a nice video on splitting cases using the Tusk splitter.  I think I,ll use that technique unless someone on here has some better technique. Thx.

Not sure what is in the Tusk video you're referencing but my advice.

*Don't be afraid to reset arms on the tool to different bolt holes if something seems like it's binding

*Keep an eye on the center case gap as things come apart, make sure it is very uniform all around as you go

*rubber mallet to help massage cases if an area doesn't want to move and to also tap transmission shafts and crankshaft that need persuasion to move

I have an old motion pro tool from around 2000. It works pretty well, and I've had to use heat with it as well. I may make some better spacers for it down the road.

Ok Thx Seth. Vid is on Rocky,s site when you hv the Tusk puller up just scroll down.  He taps on different areas . Because it wasn’t coming apart equal .  I think the seal on the shift shaft might b leaking a tiny bit.  Is it a good ideal to replace counter shaft seal also ? Any special tools needed to do seals ? Thx

A couple days ago it was unusually warm it hit 70 briefly.  I split the cases on the rear of my g20 Chevy van old school style.  It was very easy using the Tusk splitter.  I did miss a couple case bolts . I removed them & reattached 1 arm to the rear.  The 27 mm nut holding the basket on was tough to get off.  The flywheel puller has reversed threads. The nut was harder to get off. The Tusk case splitter worked perfect .  I installed the rad valve & took pic. IMG 9180
