McGrath did have a foot injury reported one year but I don’t remember exactly when and I think it disrupted more of his standings outdoors and wasn’t that bad. People were more likely to blame the title on the flat tire and being on a Suzuki testing but he was still riding well and you gotta be there all rounds to get a championship kind of like how Chase found a way to win last year. McGrath thought Huffman might be the one to unseat him but Emig was right there plenty of times especially outdoors. If we are talking foot injuries Henry had one the week before Budd’s Creek that contributed to his famous crash when he and McGrath were fighting for position. The way MC got a foot injury stepping on glass was debatable since he did fun stuff like wakeboarding and Mike Craig conversely said his leg injury was all a lie tripping over a boot so that’s just how the industry goes.
We’re just considering all the perspectives. For Arizona you could say:
1. Jett didn’t let Kenny by straight up where he rode well and won.
2. There was no controversy with Anderson at his close to home race.
3. Webb did a little bit of rubbing plastic with Lawrence that set him off the the track not giving him an easy position but it ended up making Webb lose a bunch of spots in the end that Jett watched on podium replay that “it didn’t bother him” to have to bang a little this time.
4. Jett had a chance to come up and pass Tomac but he did so carefully and made sure to say ‘he was trying to be respectful about it’ facing one more contender.
5. Jett didn’t take out his brother but he was let by obviously being faster and not in the championship.
6. No drama with Plessinger since he accidentally fell.
7. Chase the former points leader was completely out of the equation with a claimed hand injury so now Jett is #1 with a solid podium idea and maybe considered his championship to win or lose.
8. Most of the top 10 didn’t even show up to press day so no big news coming in. I don’t know what happened to Barcia since he was looking good.
9. Jett showed good effort and luck to get up to a podium spot where yeah the fans were cheering to see him do well.
10. If there are haters for any riders they don’t realize it’s a tough sport even if they make it look easy where a guy like Thrasher went down in an instant with JT showing just one little 2 foot shiny spot that could cause a crash with different height or landing small margin of error. RyderD had a bad crash too but for the 450 guys to have pace and still be close in points is not all about Jett even though he was last to speak.
11. Kitchen had to take a 2nd and Jordan worse the way it worked out incident with RJ riding well that might get him back in the 250 title.

*If we are talking popularity not just from wins or talent think of Mitch who got injured at 18 and then started Pro Circuit at 20 years-old doing lots of engine and suspension work to earn his way into the industry with popular good products and service and then again with mentoring riders like RV, RC, BT, etc.

Maybe so since:
Racing is defined as who crosses the finish line first and extra points should be added for the biggest whip, fist pump, or heel-clicker. A name like Jett sounds pretty fast to begin with.
No points for how popular you are. Even if you aren’t liked you still get to win. The worst way to lose is to not race.
There’s no sitcom laugh track or cheer meter to score how loud the crowd is yelling.
No one is sent to the underground dungeon with arena floor traps for torture or animal sacrifices like they used to have at the Roman gladiator colosseum.
I haven’t seen anyone holding up numbers #1-10 for dismount dive scores in the crowd just yet.
Oldmate is a proud Aussie who at one point mentored the Lawrence brothers. He deserves a little credit for his role in the Lawrence's journey to stardom.
There is also no harm with him posting his pictures. For me it's awesome seeing someone so happy and proud. Let him be.
