You hear all the time from the top riders that they are watching where people are around the track, in some cases they say they are even watching the race. Why cant back markers move over?

It's just part of the racing. It's not an easy problem to solve and both RV and RD both have to deal with it.

totally true! also awesome to see RV and RD happy to with the rides and respecting each other, after the karma bug bite the people with a lack of respect.

How about if you pole some b/s like chisolm/chatfield/kilbarger(sp?) did you get sat down for a race. We don't have live t.v. and all the other awesome coverage so lappers can affect the race in an adverse way. A message needs to be sent that you must MOVE OVER when the blue flags come out, and some harsh penalties would prabably help. I have mad respect for all three of the offenders, and they are awesome riders, but you gotta move over over dudes. Just my opinion.

The track looked like it had one "race line" to it, but yea, it seems some guys need re-educated on what the blue flags mean.

With all due respect, there's a lot going on out there. Supercross is a mental game and each of these guys are staying focused on the track. Track design tonight played a big part in the lapper problem.

Solution: Remote operated ignition interupters that temporarily reset the rev limiter to 5000 rpm. That will make 'em get out of the way! Bring back Duke Finch and let him run the button.

Yes 1 race line. If you are a lapper get out of that line.

D
In many cases the riders make the track one lined by constantly following the same groove and not developing other lines.

no one gives a fuck about flags in sx........what ever color it is......and that is only cuz no one makes the riders respect it.........
even asterix crew and the doc got banged by a rider when treating a hurt rider........even then ama doesnt care shit for the flags, i dont know why they pay flaggers.........
then comes the out doors and people will bitch again about the penalties and will invent new flags and all.............
maybe they are all waiting for someone to get really hurt by flags disrespect to start thinking about making riders respect them.......

Taken from the rulebook.....LIGHT BLUE with DIAGONAL YELLOW STRIPE-indicates you are about to be overtaken by faster riders. Hold your line and do not impede their progress.

Whats your definition of hold your line?

The problem with the track tonight was, where RV caught Chisholm was in a pretty decent spot to pass on the track based on its design. RD got him at about the worst possible spot - granted it was a 1 line section and Chisholm didn't have anywhere to go for about 10 seconds - but then after that he continued to race for over a lap with blue flags in his face - made NO SENSE. It slowed up RD just enough to take the edge off of the race, which was a little disappointing. Not saying for a second RD would have caught RV, but it definitely took the pressure off.

Still a fantastic evening of liveSX racing.

What is the definition of "do not impede their progress" mean? How many other lappers had the same problem in the 450 class? Seems like KC was the only one not to understand the rule.

I was thinking maybe this flag would be of help!

The only race this flag would blend in and could get mistaken would have been Anaheim III...

yeah no doubt about it. that tight section had 1 line which they never should have a had a second 90 like that. we were all thinking it was going to cause problems with lappers and passing etc and it did in both races tonight. and really no place for the lappers to go either, just a bad design thats all

How about the move by Jason Thomas in the 450 LCQ to give RV the position for the main? Wasn't even a lapper situation and he knew what the right thing to do was. Class act on his part. Both insignificant riders pretty much, but one respects the sport/top riders and the other, well - who knows...........
