Salaries may have gone up but, I’m spending $300+ weekly for just my wife and, I on groceries. Wages aren’t exactly matching the economy.
Any house around the 500k mark, needs to be fully gutted and, remodeled where I am.
Gas actually ended up being higher when Trump left office than when he entered…..but not by a lot.
It was going up gradually until demand plummeted during the Covid travel restrictions, and it rose over 30% from the lowest point by the week he unwillingly left office.
So yeah, Trump had some extremely low gas prices during the pandemic but even with reduced demand those prices were heading upwards at a pretty quick rate before his term was over.
$300 a week on groceries? Holy cow! Ours is probably half that, for myself, my wife, and our youngest child who is 21. Now if I had to count my bourbon and beer as groceries, I might be closer to that…..!

We use a website called Budget Bytes (https://www.budgetbytes.com/) for a lot of our recipes and buy everything we can at Lidl and Aldi. I don’t know how common those are but they’re barebones and cheap grocery stores. We spend like $60-80 week on food*. When I was single I spent probably $400+ 😆
*We’re vegetarian, and I know meat would be more expensive. Yes I sound more like a stereotype with everything I share.
Top that off with most of the meat we eat is salmon I caught last summer. We’ve saved plenty of money in doing so.
I’ve always watched the prices of salmon in stores. Three years ago, wild sockeye was. $4.99 a pound. Now, it’s $12 per pound.
Chinook is almost $30 a pound.

Had to switch to pedal power some years back. My last bikes were a new 2005 YZ125 and then a used 2005 CRF250. I can’t believe that was almost 20 models ago.
