And what make you so sure that all of those riders will make it through the whole 24 season?. The history with Herlings and some others of them say that they will probably be side lined again at one point this summer.

They also all have to stay injury free to beat Prado!

I guess I would say it’s like the press, there is no bad press, there is no bad time on the bike. Also if your racing I would think it’s better then just practice as you may slack off in practice but you should be giving it your all in the race.

This asterisk giving is such bullshit. The only guy that was missing at round 1 was Gajser. Everyone else was on the line and Prado held the red plate from round 1 until each of them got hurt. Then he had a 150 points lead and managed it.

Herlings hasn't competed in all rounds since his rookie MXGP season in 2017. And even there he came into round 1 injured and Gajser was 100 points ahead of him by round 4. What makes you think this is going to change?
If anything you have to say Herlings has to compete against Prado. You can pretty much count on Prado to Holeshot 80% of the races and be in position 1-4 every single race.

Similar story with Febvre. He has done 1 full season in the last 5 years.

I stated he didn’t compete against them the whole season, all of those riders were either injured or hampered during the season as you mentioned. It’s not going to be as easy this season with Geerts in the mix and Valanderan on a facory team and Fernadez, Seewer & Coldenhoff able to stand on the top step on any weekend. Going to be interesting

Kinda hard to compete against guys over a full season when they yard sale themselves time and time again, no?

the answer to this question fully depends on the year it is asked...

2005-2011: SX makes you a MUCH better rider
2012-2021: Riding SX is a massive disadvantage, because you only get to train motocross 50% of the time
2022: SX makes you a MUCH better rider
2023: Riding SX is a massive disadvantage, because you only get to train motocross 50% of the time

If he wins it this year, it will no doubt be because SX made him better and if he loses, it'll be because he was concentrating on SX too much

Not a asterisk season I agree, he won it fair and square and if injuries happen again this year he could win again but I think it’ll be much harder this season. He’s a great kid and will talk up a storm with you, his future is bright and I wish him all the best, sad he’s leaving us

Everyone assumes that prado will go to america in 2025....ducati needs a top rider in the mxgp in 2025 and ducati has enough money to keep prado in europa

Listen to his interview on Pulp.

It’s obvious he’s coming to America in 2025.

No. He'll be sharp & going outdoors & in a different series will feel fresh & exciting. He'll benefit from it I think.

I agree and there are teams like Kawi, Husky, and Gasgas that need to get younger. A lot of fast guys are retiring in the next ~2 years.

Prado came here and made a shit ton of fans, fans that will follow him (on tv) back to MXGP.

And will most likely root for him to kick ass over there.

Then welcome him back next year.
Bravo young man

Yeah true, it won't be easy. But I think he'll also be a LOT better than last year. Less pressure because he already won the title last year. Same bike, less testing, more date. More confidence. Hopefully SX helped improve one of his only weaknesses which has always been passing and not accepting slower riders' rhythm when he's behind them and can't pass them.

If I was a good rider in my prime I probably would not ride a bike from a manufacturer that is new to mx/sx. There is too much chance of wasting 2-3 years while they figure out how to make a bike work.

To be fair about Febvre, he only missed one MXGP race last year in Spain, after Van Doninck took him out badly at the start of the saturday qualifying race (concussion).

That doesn't take 2 or 3 year......ducati has so much technical knowledge ... just look what they do in motogp

It took them 4 seasons of not winning and a rules change for engine size before they won a title in Moto gp. It took 2 years before they were competitive. It took ktm a year to get the newest version of their bike up to full speed after winning multiple championships. I think Ducati being competitive in the first two years is extremely optimistic. Have they ever built a dirt bike before?
