he was moving a rock off the track and got hit by a rider. I believe the guys bike hit his hand against the rock and mangled it. I have photos of it right after it happened before he was taken to hospital. It was nasty.

He's really good if he tricked AP into hugging him and he doesn't know him. Hahahaha.
FYI normally they would have interviewed him on the podium and it wouldn’t be an issue, but AP stopped and was celebrating, and the tv crew knew it could take 5 minutes or longer to get him up and on the podium, hence they went to him and had the open / exposed track - as well as a possible podium shot crasher! Probably a better shot anyway with all the excitement.
