Of course not. You have the perfect storm. Moto industry rule #1 - only rumors allowed, especially on off season injuries. Cant allow the truth to get out at all cost, may get an insider to use a little innuendo about the news but nothing confirmed. May even blame rider absence on issues with a crew member. Moto industry rule #2 - don’t bite the hand that feeds you and ask questions about stars of the sport. You will find out in due time. And then the bros will let you know they knew all along
I just want to know why deegan is trying to keep it such a secret. Everyone knows he's injured why not just say whats happening? Guys saying he had surgery and is out for sx and deegan says he'll be at the first round. Does he mean in the stands? Is he trying to race? If he's trying to race why not just come out and say he's injured so if he doesn't do good he has an excuse. It's not like every rider on the line with him doesn't know.
He’s fine. He’s not racing or practicing because his mechanic got hurt.
A good orthopedic that works with athletes is drastically different from the standard Dr. I worked with one that was all about getting me back riding and gave me a pretty accurate ETA for when I would be able to ride again. Looking back now, it was cool to have experienced having that level of help. I would assume that Haiden would have an entire team of people like that . That have experience with rehabbing pro athletes.
His Dr. or trainers could have told him they could have him ready by the opener. And it would be up to him to decide if he felt ok going into the season with whatever amount of time he has back on the bike before the first round. All speculation of course, only based on my own limited experiences with a Dr. and place that also worked with higher level athletes. I was only able to be treated by them because they also worked on people who had really bad injuries .
But yah if he had a regular Orthopedic Dr. I agree. It would shock me if he did not have the best they could get, and got multiple opinions since its so well known how serious an injury that can be. Like him or hate him, Brian seems to know what he's doing as far as guiding his kids into being pro racers.

”Look, we all knew about the wrist injury. I spoke to someone close to the situation a couple of weeks ago and he said he only had a couple weeks on the bike since the surgery so him coming into the series underprepared was expected.”
I was trying to think of some reasons that could benefit him for there to be rumors and him not confirm or deny them. I have no inside knowledge and these are just my thoughts/speculation of reasons on why he would not put out any statement . Take that for what it is worth.
I guess if he did get hurt, all this publicity he's getting by leaking a little info out. And that helps make up for the lack of racing by still being somewhat in the spotlight. He has a new line of clothing that Parts Unlimited is distributing, or might not be new, might just be new to PU. Keeping his name out in the news before his season starts is a good thing for sales.
There being rumors of an injury. If he comes out and is not doing well it gives him an out.If he is not injured, he gives his competition a little bit of a reason to think they can relax thinking he will not be 100%. So then if he comes out faster and stronger than ever and smokes everybody. They are caught off guard and its harder for them to make up speed and fitness during the season. By him never saying anything officially about an injury , he is not putting out false info. Or if he did get hurt early enough that he was able to already heal and get cleared, it can do all of those things for him.
They should just confirm / deny it. Webb broke his navicular before the last round of supercross in 16 and still won the outdoor title that summer.
The fact that they haven’t publicly announced the injury is what makes me think they’re still not sure if he’s going to line up. If they were 100% sure he was going to race Detroit, Brian and Haiden could use the injury as like a marketing thing for their YouTube channel like they do with everything else. Their vlog thumbnail would be like a picture of Brian’s face looking shocked/surprised and Haiden’s face in pain with the caption, “Racing Detroit with a broken wrist!”
We shall find out in a few weeks! Pushing the limits every day in that environment will cause some spills.. off-topic, but isn't it crazy Eli trained most of his career solo?
Who cares if he got hurt, he still could spank half the class with the injury!
this guy knows how to create content... also fuck the Dodgers, can't believe they got Shohei
Wait until you see Yamamoto pitch 😎
I thought that was Jason Weigandt in your profile pic. Looks kinda like him .
lol some random YouTube video of a guy trying to get views.
Deegan was just shredding his 250 on his birthday!
stop spreading BULLSHIT LIES
I’m going to tell him you said you think he looks like an absolutely jacked 6’4” 210 lb Japanese man 😳
When the photo is the smaller size it shows up as I scroll. After I look closer , not as much resemblance. At first I really thought it was him , maybe dressed up for a halloween thing, or photoshopped. Since his kid is really into baseball. The only thing I know about baseball is that my grandmother wanted me to play it instead of riding bikes and dirtbikes. I never tried playing it enough to see if I was any good. I was 5'9" in the 5th grade and 6'6" by my 15th birthday. So I always either had people wanting me to play basketball, football or some kind of ball.
I was just not into a sport that I could be the best or worst and still win or lose at it. Having to rely on the skills of others or use the lack of their skills as a reason for a bad result. I liked how with MX or MTB's that I was responsible for my results to a much higher degree. I could not hide behind a stronger team, or blame a weaker one.
Looking back on it, I can see the value of playing team sports . For learning how to work together as a group and the benefits that can bring beyond just the results of the game itself. I think it can help instil some great traits just like how Moto also is a great builder of strong minded people .
Who is saying Deegan got surgery???
Pit Row
Swap moto said he talked to guys at A1 and he got surgery and won't be racing.
He got a new tattoo . Dad must’ve said “when you’re 18” !
In a video? I watched Swap Moto YouTube I never heard that
Yes.
Wow, that’s really taking it to an extreme. Just cause your mechanic gets injured you decide to have some elective surgery. Cant say he isn’t dedicated to his man!
Gee, if he is injured and later milks the 250 class for four years he could be the second rider ever to win his 450 debut.
That's going to look crap, when he's old and not training!
Link me please
Its the swap podcast. I wish I could get things to post here because I have a screen grab.
No surgery was required and he is close to being released to ride.
If he broke the navicular and is almost released he had a miracle treatment. I've done it multiple times. For it to actually heal it took 12 weeks in a cast doing nothing. I didn't go that route the other times. It wasn't crazy pain and I did race on it but it didn't feel decent for about a year.
Anybody know which wrist, left or right? That would matter.
