Howdy Y'all, going on a 2 week semi-guided trip to Japan next spring. Don't have much free time scheduled but I'd love to break away and see some moto stuff if possible. We'll be in Tokyo for a few days, then Fujinomiya, Fukuoka, Kyoto, Hakone, then back to Tokyo for departure back the mother ship. The only thing I see near those locations require an hour+ drive to get to.
Reaching out to the well traveled Vital community for tips!
Thanks!
Been to the Kumamoto All Japan National in 2015. Was a great experience seeing lots of new bikes for the first time. Look that schedule up if you can make it to one of them.
The Kumamoto one is pretty impressive because it is HRC’s testtrack inside of a huge factory and testing facility from Honda.
japan is great. Enjoy it and if you need more details including non moto stuff let me know.
myself is also there at that same time and would love some moto things to see
Paging local resident Sully to the white courtesy phone!.
Also Tokyo Tiddler can offer some advice
Sounds like a fun trip, it's on my bucket list. (bumping for visibility)

Pretty much anything moto related is going to be an hour plus outside of cities at that time of year, so you may just have to bite the bullet on that one. From Tokyo, the track in Saitama may be an option, but honestly, I don't know what they have going on there when the All Japan Nationals aren't being held there in May & October.
If you're feeling froggy, Twin Ring Motegi/the Honda Museum is about a 2 1/2 hour drive (or 4 hour train ride) north of Tokyo.
I can't help with Fujinomiya or Fukuoka as I've never been to either place, but depending on when you're in Fukuoka, you may be able to catch the first national of the year at Kumamoto. I can't find a 2024 schedule, but in 2023, it was on April 6, so I would assume it will be either the weekend of the 6th or the 13th this year.
Kyoto is a pretty cool place for all the history, but no moto stuff close by that I'm aware of. Meihan Sportsland is about a 2 hour drive away, but just like Saitama, I'm not sure what they have going on non-national days.
Hakone is another cool place for the history (try the hot spring hard boiled eggs) and view of Mt Fuji, but not much moto stuff. Fuji Speedway is about an hour away, though, so if you're there on a weekend, you may be able to catch a local car race.
I needed this hahaha we have all our accommodation sorted.. but now organizing our activities is the hard part
Hakone is great for onsen resorts but you usually cant go in if you have tattoos.
If you like whisky, Yamazaki distillery does tours and that's near Kyoto
It's worth making a Japanese national. You might be in luck this year, check the dates below. Getting to Offroad Village in Saitama isn't that difficult, just get a train to the nearest station and jump in a taxi, show the driver the location on google maps.
Also if you can swing a visit to the Honda Collection Hall it will not disappoint, however looking at their website they are temporary closed and reopening in March 2024. Keep an eye on the link for any up dates. Use google chrome to translate the pages.

Man, I was way off on the Saitama round. Now that I know the date, though, I’m really thinking I might have to go.
I appreciate all the tips everyone. I have a lot of research to do thanks to you!
