So Mcgrath didn't start with one race ?
That’s what everyone was saying after just the first round of outdoors. We all know how that went.
Let’s face it. Before Eli got hurt last season. He was not super impressive. He was lucky Chase was always being Chase with his crashes. We have not seen the true Eli beast mode in quite some time. It’s going to take beast mode to be beat Jett.
Not sure it will take beast mode to beat Jett but it will take some great starts. And that goes for everyone else.

It will take a great start and hopefully a bad start by Jett.
Always cracks me up reading threads here, and elsewhere around the internet.
People create mountainous drama from shit racers, from all types of motorsports, don't even consider molehills.
Hell, just the thread titles tell you what a shit show will be contained inside.
And here you have the same kids arguing back and forth about it.
Isn’t that what a message board is for? People to debate and discuss their opinions on a specific category.
Vital would be out of business if it was just a place for smart people like you to post facts. That no one could debate.
It's one race.....
Sure he did but did the world claim he was going break all the records after one race? Like I said it's just one race and its a little foolish talking about breaking records after one race...
That was during the infancy of public internet . If people had the ability to post the first thought that came into their head back then it probably would have been the same .
The possibility that Tomac’s career is in decline is much more likely and relevant for discussion than Jett breaking a record that will be years away.
Other than last year, Eli has not done well at A1 in the past. It was right around how he has finished in the past. But it looked like he was not trying as hard, and not making the mistakes that have resulted in the results of the past openers. I figured he was not going to be risking it all for the win. Just tipping his toe in and getting back into the swing of things.
I agree that 1 race is too quick to say Eli is done, or that Jett will win another 72 races . But I will say that Jet is putting pressure on himself by talking about going for the 72 wins. I thought that Torteli was already the first to win their first SX race in the big bike class. I looked around and only saw Torteli had done 125 races before getting the win. Maybe I missed it where he had raced a 250 before getting that win. The pressure of being the first to ever win their first big bike SX race, and everybody talking about how much he will win. I wonder if that might have turned into confidence instead of pressure. Just believing it so strongly that instead of it making it harder to pull off, it helped him.
I was thinking that the first win would be the hardest. But maybe not if he is thinking the way it looks like. For most racers they have to get that first win to get the confidence to really know they can win. And that generally helps make their next win, or podium finishes easier mentally. Jett will be fun to watch this year. I hope he and everybody else stays healthy and there are some great battles. Bummer for Hunter, I think that Hunter's bad night adds to the impressiveness of Jetts mental strength and confidence. I wonder if it threw jett off and how much? I'm looking forward to seeing Hunter get up there and see what he can do. Also glad there is some racing going on again.
When they showed Eli during those last laps it looked like he was just rolling around . Fatigue , arm pump , whatever it was he was visibly just cruising. From timing and scoring it looked like he dropped anchor about the halfway mark .
“…you americans…”
And there it is, folks, plain as day.
Are we talking about the same guy? You know, the one that would have WON the championship had he not got hurt. Just curious.
He will make at least $2 million this year…… 😂
Gas Station Sushi -- good name for a punk band.
I think Eli came back because he didn't want to go out on an injury, the chips will fall where they do this year but he's racing.
I know, jett sucked at the last 20 races after he won round one last summer, in the heat going 30+2......
Pit Row
If its and buts, were candies and nuts, wouldn't we all be happy......
Apparently not…
I'm looking for where MC said he was going to beat RJ's record before his first SX race, can't seem to find it.....
Yup!!! And probably win a couple of events to cap off one of the best careers the sport has seen. And done it with class. The guy literally had the championship taken away from him last year while doing it in a new for him smart creative way. He overcame this mentally and just came back from Achilles surgery!!!! He's over 30 for goodness sake. Maybe he'll win again, or maybe he won't. The guy is not looking for a Swan Song or anything more than going out on his own terms. I think he earned that and deserves sooo much better than a thread like this.
So you don’t set goals? That’s what these guys do.
Pretty sure MC wasn't saying anything about chasing records after his first win.... My comment was about how his fans start chirping about the record after one race....
Yeh I hear ya. But this is the first time since James that it “could” be in danger.
I’d love to see it beaten especially if he keeps doing outdoors.
I'm pretty sure that these claims weren't being made after Stews first race....and we all see how that worked out...Talk to me when he hits 50SX wins....
If we are not going to have discussions and bench race. Talk about this stuff we might aswell shit down the forum.
Jetts on the biggest roll we have ever seen in mx/sx at his age. Why wouldn't we talk about this stuff.
But we're not talking about his roll he's on (one race win) people are already convinced he's got 72 wins....and by doing so after one race does nothing but disrespect those that came before him....
No
Bottom line is I'm happy he's out there racing again, even if it turns out he's not in the championship hunt he's a good dude to have in the sport.
